VIGO Piedmont 38 in. L x 38 in. W x 79 in. H Frameless Hinged Neo-angle Shower Enclosure in Brushed Nickel with Clear Glass-VG6062BNCL38W

This was our second VIGO frameless shower enclosure. The final product is always beautiful, stylish & sleek. The material is of great quality. Our only recommendations are to have at least 2 knowledgeable people installing it, to read the instructions carefully before hand: the installation is a bit time consuming so plan for it.

In all fairness, the rating might be 4 stars as some of the problems could have been caught early. 1. This product weighs alot (over 250lbs). So, when you receive it on the crate. Check the labels on it and make sure its what you ordered before you accept it, this was my first mistake. So, what happened is that I ordered the 38x38 shower enclosure and they sent me the 38x38 base with the 36x36 glass and 1 of the glass pieces was broken. So, I had to do a lot of coordinating to get it returned. Also, the order will come in 2 boxes. The base and the glass are separate, but delivered on 1 crate. 2. Instead of dealing with customer service initially to fix the problem initially, for expediency, I simply ordered another set hoping it would be right the 2nd time and return the original unit. Customer service was very prompt in working the issue, but there were a few comedy of errors that didn't' turn out to be funny. Once I received the 2nd unit, I double checked it this time and everything seemed to be okay. During this time, the base of the original glass was already installed. So, once I processed the return, I returned the 1st order with the 2nd order base (since it was already installed). 3. 2nd order issues. So, the 2nd order came in and I checked all the labels and everything said it was 38x38, however to my disappointment after unpacking everything, the tracks sent with the 2nd order were 36x36! I again told customer service and this time they sent me the correct track and all went well (of course, this all cost me construction days). 4. There were other minor problems, but let's just say, they need to work on their QA for packaging and listen to the customer. 5. As far as the quality of the product, it is as nice (even better) than what you see online. As long as you get the right stuff, you will be happy for the price. I just had a hard time carrying around 275 lbs of glass in my truck (short-bed) that had the wrong hardware. 6. As of 10/1/2020, I have yet to receive a refund for the first item I sent back. They said they were working it, but as of right now, I am owed $600+ for the first shipment. Ergo....3 stars from me. Be blessed and happy showering!

I actually posted the following review on Vigo's web site back in November, and, lo and behold, it looks as if they have taken it off their web site sometime before the posting of this review on Amazon. I guess that's the mark of a not-so-great company when they can't even handle negative reviews. My original review stated the following: "I bought this and had an experienced contractor install it as well as tile the shower into which it was going. Have had it in for two months and have a mysterious leak at both sides of the shower pan where it meets the wall. The wall board gets damp every time some tries to take a shower. I contacted Vigo and their only advice was to recaulk it. I recaulked the interior but still have the leak. It seems to be running under the panels, collecting in the lower tracks and then moistening the walls. If I had to do it again, I'd pay a local glass company the money I was trying to save because all I have are constant headaches now with a shower that seems defective but Vigo won't bother replacing." Since this time (in November), a rep from Vigo worked with me to resolve the leaking issues. What I basically wound up doing was taking the shower apart and re-installing it because the printed directions that came with the shower never said to caulk behind the side seal strips where the side shower panels meet the walls of the shower and also never said to ensure the side seal strips ride right on top of the bottom rails in which the side panels sit. All this after I had painstakingly removed all the caulk (with a dental tool since I didn't want to scratch the ceramic tiles or the shower pan) and re-caulked everything only to find out my re-caulking job had no effect. Re-installing the shower worked for a bit, but as of a few days ago, the shower is leaking again on the right side where the side glass panel meets the wall and the shower pan. In theory, it shouldn't be leaking at all, but it is what it is. Another issue has been with the shower door. When closed, it never sits aligned with the rail below it, which means water leaks out slowly from underneath the door where the door meets the side panel it closes to. I was told to "readjust" the hinges to get the door to align more with the rail underneath it, but since the side panel holding the hinges doesn't have a lot of play in them, I don't see how this is going to work. In short, I wish I never had bought this thing and had spent twice or three times the amount to have my local glass company do the install. Though the rep at Vigo had tried to help, it's come to nothing. If you're considering getting one, I would pass and recommend you have some local professionals do it instead. You'll pay more in the end, but sometimes paying more does mean you get more, which I'm not getting from a company that can't even handle having bad reviews on its web site.

Do not buy this shower unless you are having a professional installer. The quality is good but the installation instructions are terrible and the design requires perfect plump and level on the entire project making it almost impossible to install.
