Awesome Nerf gun with a serious amount of power! Be careful when using around super small children.
Now I'm no serious Nerf enthusiast. I like Nerf guns as much as anybody else, but I've definitely read some reviews, and seen some Nerf products (for hundreds of dollars) that lead me to believe there are people that actually might have a "Nerf problem." With this being said, this Nerf gun was a great gift for my friend's son and has provided many hours of entertainment for both the kids and adults! I got this for my friend's son's 7th birthday. His favorite color is red, so I thought this might be a perfect addition to his Nerf collection. Upon opening this marvel, he was immediately enamored. What's awesome about this Nerf gun is that it can fire the shots consecutively without having to "wind up" every time. This was a huge feature for my friend's son as he's super small for his age ( and quite frankly, a little lazy) so the less work the better! Upon firing the first shot, he hit one of the male adults at the party square in the a$$. While it was hysterical, there was a literal welt where the Nerf ammo had struck. This thing has serious power! When used outside, the Cycloneshock blaster was able to shoot the Nerf ammo well into enemy territory in the creepy neighbor's backyard...a true success if you ask me ;) Overall, I'm impressed by the amount of power this gun has. It was easy for a small 7 year old to hold and operate and has provide him with much entertainment...much to his dad's chagrin ;)

For a time, the best MEGA Nerf blaster there was.
First, one should note that "Accuracy" is *not* something you can judge a blaster for; they do not operate the same as firearms in any way. The dart is the only thing that judges accuracy, and at any distance beyond point-blank, the standard darts it comes with (Nerf MEGA darts, standard) have all the accuracy of a drunk driver, simply as a fault in their design. If you can, try picking up Nerf MEGA Accustrike darts, or any knockoff version of those darts - they're far more likely to actually hit their target. It IS a substantially powerful blaster for the size, and the emotional response from seeing such a large dart fly at high speeds to hit with more force than a Nerf Elite dart is impossible to understate; as well, more experienced Nerfers will adore the sheer power from modifying this blaster to fire the far more common Nerf Elite darts. Overall, a quality piece for any Nerf arsenal for whatever purpose you see fit, and a hallmark of a time back when Nerf made quality products.

Great blaster, but expect the pain
I'll keep this review simple, but this is the premier blaster for shooting mega darts. It trumps all other models before it is the spiral loader and spring provided for the blaster, offer great blasting power and range. The actual build quality is very good as well, feeling good in your hand and not very prone to flimsiness or damage. It feels like a solid toy. The only drawback to this blaster is the accuracy can be slightly off at times. But I think this is more an aspect of the darts themselves rather than the gun. You will get different results depending on the quality of the dart, which can take a beating pretty quickly. Brand-new darts out of the pack can really cruise out of this blaster, so as a result – fair warning for those thinking about getting something like this for a child - these darts can smart and are fairly dangerous if shot around or near the face - but Nerf makes this very clear that you shouldn't do that. But as I mentioned before, the accuracy can depend on the dark so you might have some accidental head shots (eg. Darts that rise instead of dropping). Fair warning! But in reality it's things that matter where you hit :P - Personally that's the way I like it! Have fun and remain safe – this blaster still get my five stars!

No slam fire, but decent ranges, 6 shots, and looks cool; Caliber converter from "Worker" now available on EBay.
No Slam-fire, but since it has 6 shots anyway, who cares right? It still looks cool and uses Mega darts. I measured the dart velocities in FPS (feet per second) on my ProChrono Digital chronograph. It fires the huge Mega darts at an average of 71 FPS. While this is ok for elite ranges, keep in mind the Mega Magnus puts out 79 FPS on average, and the Mega Thunder Bow puts out somewhere in the 80 FPS range. The only advantage this gun has over the other Elite Mega blasters is the amount of darts it can shoot before a reload, which is 6 (Magnus 3, MTB 5, BigShock 1, don't ask about the Centurion as I am still mad about that blaster being made). Other than the mediocre performance, there is a good side of the Mega CycloneShock: the looks. As you can see, when held in hand it looks beefier and more intimidating than the other blasters (like the Mega Rotofury, it looks kind of like a grenade launcher). An added bonus is that the handle grip is quite comfortable (unlike the Slingstrike, which I am still sore from), and offers an unnecessary but cool finger guard from handle to the area in front of the trigger. As an update, there is a savvy aftermarket caliber converter insert you can purchase from the China-based modification company that will allow you to fire standard Nerf Elite darts (blue, green, white, orange, and decorated Rebelle darts). This makes shots from the Cyclone Shock very powerful. In fact, the average FPS jumps from 71 to 91. All that pressure designed for a large Mega sized dart is concentrated on a tiny standard Elite dart . However, the accuracy of the darts are pretty bad due to that excessive pressure and not enough "barrel" to guide it in the desired direction. Therefore, the term "effective range" would come into context, meaning that the blaster can shoot darts far but only consistently hit the intended target at closer ranges than what it can reach (i.e. reaching say, 80 feet, but only able to hit the right target within 25 feet away). If you are willing to put the lack accuracy and lack of slam-fire aside, what you have is a decent blaster which will never jam on you, and as an added plus it will make you look scarier than you really are. Unless you are dressed as a clown; there are a lot of people afraid of clowns, and if there happens to be one holding a CycloneShock i'm sure everyone would be uncomfortable.

Se resume en padrísimo! Buen alcance, fuerza y divertido. Aunque para niños muy pequeños 5/6 es grande para sus manos si logran activarlo a su tiempo. No golpea fuerte como se pudiera pensar pero obviamente hay q enseñarles el cuidado q deben tener al jugarlo.
