These will save your ski boots and make them safer
not only is walking in ski boots in a muddy parking lot a misery, but it can damage the bottom of your skiboots, such that they may not release from your bindings if the skid plate is really scratched up. This product makes it a pleasure to walk any distance in ski boots. They allow your boots to roll so your gate is much more natural and not labored. Plus they protect your boots from the mud and grime. They fit in your pocket to you can simply put them back on at the end of the day, for your walk back to the car. If you have to walk in a ski area parking lot with any regularity, these are a must have.

Great Product! Transforms Walking in Ski Boots
I bought these after looking at the soles of my ski boots. I noticed they were getting worn down after a couple ski trips of walking from the condo to the ski lift. I did some research and realized how important the outside soles of your ski boots are to function properly with your bindings. Ultimately the reason I bought these were to protect my ski boots from getting worn down from walking on concrete and they do provide this protection. What I didn't realize was how they made walking in ski boots a million times better! If you have ever tried to walk in ski boots you know the pain and agony you go through. SkiTrax add a sole and help your foot almost rock from heal to toe as your walk. I wouldn't but I feel like I could walk a mile in these. Also, they are easy to take off and put in your backpack as you ski for the day. I will always uses these and highly recommend.

Really a fine product!
The SkiTrax really do make walking much easier in ski boots! The cushion-feel and natural-rolling walk is apparent from your first time wearing them. They do make it a bit safer walking on ice. They fold up nice and come with a pouch to store them in your pocket or off season. We walk up the street for 5+ minutes to the slope and they make the walk soooo much easier! Why I only gave 4-stars: they are somewhat large and cumbersome in your pocket while skiing; if your pockets are small, you will have to put them into separate pockets. The sizing on the box/chart is a bit off and required me returning them to get it right. I wear a 10 1/2, while my wife wears a 9; both boots fit into a medium SkiTrax.

better but still can improve.
this is my 2nd order of Ski Trax. the first pair broke at the heel loop while attaching to the back of the boot. now there is no "loop" but a solid piece of rubber? seems better designed. I am a men's 9.5 with new (this season) 305 mm long boots. (right at the border between "small" and "medium" ski trax). the "small" fits the 305 mm footbed tightly--almost too tight... have't tried them on the slopes yet. the "medium" was too loose for my old 297mm long boots (still size 9.5 men's) and fell off while walking. I think sizing by the boot footlength is more accurate. another improvement that could be made is making the "LEFT" and "RIGHT" marks on the Trax more easily visible. addendum: after storage for ~ a month the "small" SkiTrax snapped. I contacted IMPLUS and after writing a letter and sending back the broken pieces, they sent a "medium" back free! because of this customer service, I raised my rating to a "5" star. in use, the SkiTrax do make it easier to walk; can walk down stairs in skiboots instead of "side stepping". they improve traction in snow; I am not sure whether traction is improved on ice.

Horrible quality SKITRAX required repair before using
The RIGHT Trax was OK and snugly fitted my 344 mm. boot using water to help slip the heel piece on. However, the LEFT Trax had cracks in the center of the connector section where the section was sharply folded in the package. Surprisingly the cracks were on the inside of the bend, not the outside. Upon attempting to put the LEFT Trax on the boot, the Trax tore where the cracks were located. Others have reported failures of the center section. However, since I could not obtain a "CAT TRACKS" model large enough for my boot, I repaired the Left Trax instead of sending it back. My method used neoprene/nylon/neoprene laminated crampon strap and two brass grommets. The crampon strap was 38 year old material originally from Seattle Manufacturing Corp. (SMC) in 1978 for SMC crampons; the strap material is still in perfect condition. The 1/4" diameter grommets were from a 38 year old size O (or 0?) "Handi Grommet Kit" by Lord & Hodge Inc., Middletown, CT. I bored a 1/4 inch hole in both the front and rear pieces of the Trax using a soldering iron, not a drill, with the hole centers about 1 inch from the flat bottom sections. I then used a cork borer to make two 1/4" holes near the ends of the 3.5" long neoprene nylon strap with a distance of 2 and 5/8" between hole centers. After smoothing the holes in the Trax pieces with the soldering iron and thinning the bottoms of the Trax pieces by the holes with the iron to accommodate the male part of the 1/4" brass grommets, I was able to pound on the washer parts with a hammer. This tedious process required 2.8 hours. See the photo for the result. The Chinese-made Trax is of very poor quality, probably a carbon-filled plasticized vinyl or even natural rubber, not a good quality polyurethane; vinyls and rubber have very poor tear strength and tensile strength compared to urethanes; I am a retired polymer chemist so know the wrong type of elastomer was chosen to make these. I do not recommend this product to anyone since the 90 day warranty is terrible for a product which should last at least for 5 or 10 years. Also, the silvery stuff bag is NOT waterproof as it should be, since wet snow will leak into a day pack used to stow these; a ZIP lock baggie should be used inside the stuff bag. All these Trax should be stored in a flat, not folded, condition to prevent future cracking of the center sections. Also do NOT store the Trax mounted on boots to prevent cracking.

Save your boots and yourself.
These are literally a life saver, at least maybe a broken bone. They are easy to take on and off and make it comfortable to walk on asphalt and cement. What was really apparent was traction in slippery snow. My friend went down with a different brand on an area I had just walked easily over. He ordered a pair that night while nursing a bruised bottom.

These are great. There are other alternatives out there (I think called 'cat tracks') that my daughter bought because she couldn't get these at the time. These (this product I'm reviewing) are so much better. They are thicker, making them easier to walk on, and they go on quickly with one hand - my daughter and I used to need our combined 4 hands to pull the cat tracks onto her boots. We eventually bought more of these to replace her cat-tracks. Definitely recommended!

La poignée pour aider à mettre les protections sur les chaussures est très fragile ( une de cassée après 3 jours d'utilisation)

Bought for my girlfriend who has always complained whist walking in ski boots, too slippy, uncomfortable, hard work etc. Even if I'm carrying her skis its too much effort. These have changed her life!!! Genuinely. The 'rocker' action make walking more natural, like normal shoes. It gave her a fair amount of grip on an icy slope. There a bit of a pain to get on, she really struggled on her own. In fact, I had to do it every time. (worth it for the peace and quiet!) The sizing is also something to be careful of, we originally bought X Small, they only just went on, with a lot of pulling. Despite the boots being the same size as the maximum guide states. We returned them and got the next size up which fitted better. Its also worth checking there on properly, we did lose one which was annoying, ice on the binding might prevent them going on each time. Over all, I wish I'd got these years ago.

confort de marche et surtout sécurité sur la neige et la glace assurée ! seul petit défaut : la solidité de la languette de talon.
