Jewelers Saw Blades 3/0 Pike brand are made in Switzerland. Jewelers Piercing Saw Blades are used for cutting all metals and other hard materials. The Pike Brand is one of the finest jewelerโs saw blades available. The #3/0 Pike saw blade is one of the most popular size that is used by Jewelers, Metalsmiths as their piercing blades. Pike saw blades are manufactured to exacting tolerances, using special alloy steel, along with specific angle, size and cut of each tooth. The unique tempering process ensures consistent flexibility, long blade life and gives them their exclusive golden straw color. Straight uniformed sharp teeth promote smooth straight cutting lines and rounded back of the blades makes cutting curves easier. All blades are approximately 5-14/" long. Pike Saw blades are supplied in packages containing 1 gross, 144 blades, grouped in 12 dozen bundles. Saw Blade Specifications: Thickness : .0095โ / .25mm Width: .0190โ / .47mm Teeth per Inch: 61 Drill Size for Piercing : #76 Review: Fine teeth. Cuts beautifully - Item is as stated. High quality. Packaged well. Review: Excellent but slender and fragile - These blades, size #3/0, cut beautifully. If you look at blade size charts available online, they are recommended for soft sheet metal such as silver or soft brass sheet, thickness 0.0250". I am cutting half-hard brass of the same thickness, and have found it better to use one size larger- #2/0 - for this harder material. All due care in handling is required, as the blades are very slender, and as they are made of hardened steel, are quite fragile if they are given side loads or if they get hung up in the cut you are making on the work piece. There is a reason they are sold in packs of 144. When you install these in the jeweler's saw, be sure to gauge which is the cutting edge and which is the smooth back, and also in which direction the teeth are intended to cut. You can generally tell this with light pressure from your fingers. Tip 1: Using some blade lubricating wax, such as BurLife, will make cutting easier and extend the life of the blades. Tip 2: if you break one near to one end, you can re-install the longer remainder in the saw and continue cutting.

Great for Brass
Never had to do work this fine before, so I bought a jeweler's saw and these blades. Have cut numerous pieces and I'm still on the first blade. If my lack of experience and two left hands can get it done with these, they're good stuff. Would recommend.
