Dorian Yates
Product ID: 112946957
From the Shadow is the story of a country boy who endured a series of tragic events, leaving him alone in a big city. The cruel hand of fate had one more blow: a young offenders' institution. There, in his darkest hour, it would be the bars he lifted, not those that bound him, which would finally change the trajectory of his life forever. Dorian's disarming honesty would lead to a reader of an early manuscript saying of From the Shadow: "I had to force myself to put it down-the thought of finishing it, of the most real thing I'd ever read coming to an end, was unbearable." Dorian Yates is a six-time winner of the world's premier bodybuilding competition, Mr. Olympia, and, more recently, has become an internet guru too, known to many new admirers as the Legend. Originally from England, he now lives in southern Spain with his Brazilian-born wife, Gal Ferreira Yates. Dorian has two children-a son, Lewis, and a daughter, Tahnee, both from his first marriage. Review: Informative and interesting - A very interesting read about Britain's most successful bodybuilder. Dorian Yates combines scientific knowledge with extraordinary self discipline and focus. The book has been well constructed and details a remarkable story from humble beginnings to world champion. There is no self glorification but modest description how Dorian achieved the ultimate bodybuilding prize. The only negative is there are several typing errors in the print which should have been edited prior to printing Review: Great Book - I first trained in the Temple Gym circa 1995.. and find myself back there recently.. Dorian was there a few days ago, I didn’t speak with him. He strikes me as an aloof albeit fascinating character, someone who I admire. This was a great read.

No revelations but a nice tribute
I'm a big fan of Dorian, but this book seemed to have been written by an even bigger fan....the unwavering praise and flattery grew a bit sickly for my tastes. If you're a fan then I doubt this book will tell you anything you haven't heard before.
