I needed a cane or a walking stick to help with combating spinal stenosis, and given my height (I'm 6'3"), a walking stick was recommended. So, I looked around for something on Amazon, and this walking stick was one of the few that was available at 58". Honestly, I bought it for that reason alone, though I thought it looked cool. I didn't give it much thought beyond that. That's probably why when the walking stick arrived I was so surprised that it was such a solid and beautiful walking stick. The only problem with this walking stick is that I'm a low-key kind of guy who likes to avoid attention, and this walking stick attracts attention. I've had it for a little over two months, and in that time around a dozen people in my work place have complimented me on the walking stick, with a few stopping to talk about it and ask questions about where I got it. So if you're looking to remain anonymous, a beautiful walking stick like this isn't for you. People WILL notice. As for the walking stick itself and what it's like to use it, I have absolutely no complaints. It's so well-balanced and comfortable that it feels like an extension of my body. It's solid but not heavy, and the 58" length is perfect for someone my height. Since I've started dealing with the stenosis, canes feel a little perilous to me. They don't provide the kind of support I need and leave me feeling unstable, like the cane could slip or something. The center of gravity feels wrong. But since I received this walking stick, I feel like I'm on a solid footing again. I feel like this walking stick can really take my weight if I need to lean heavily on it, and that helps me where standing up straight is concerned (people with spinal stenosis tend to unconsciously stoop, to lean away from the discomfort) because I feel like I have a foundation. In closing, I wasn't familiar with Brazos before this purchase, but I've been impressed enough by my walking stick that I'm certain I'll be buying more from them in the future. This walking stick was well made, solid, beautiful, and was sold at an amazing price considering the quality. I'm from North Carolina, and this walking stick reminds me of the quality cane and walking sticks you can find in shops up in the mountains where they're made by local craftspeople; the kind of thing which becomes a part of the family, and which your relatives squabble over when you're gone.

I absolutely love these walking sticks and have bought four so far. They’re impressively lightweight yet strong, making them ideal for hiking or testing the ground in fields where hidden holes might be a concern. Each one is unique. They also display beautifully when propped in a corner. If you’re searching for a distinctive and practical gift, this is an excellent choice.

I purchased the 58" Sassafras walking stick and had to cut off approximately 3 inches to get a proper fit and feel so I would suggest ordering a little longer than needed and cut to fit. The quality is pretty much what is pictured in the photos, not perfectly straight but must keep in ming these are natural, bare material these craftsmen are working with. In the last month I've hiked waterfall trails along Lake Superior in upper Minnesota and La Framboise Island trails in South Dakota with varying trail conditions and the walking stick performed well as light weight and strong and definitely helped keep my balance at times. Would definitely recommend this walking stick and will be a customer in the near future on other sticks.

So sturdy, perfect height. I always feel stable. Plus its good for warding off unleashed animals you may come across on your walk

Pretty much every time I go out in public with this, people comment about how awesome it is. It is strong. I do wish whomever had installed the brass medallion in the handle had paid attention to mounting it not at an angle to the staff. The foot block isn't grippy on wet slick surfaces. If you buy one, be sure to get one that is tall enough. I'd suggest it come up to about your shoulder. The first one I got was too short for my height.

I have MS and am too embarrassed to use a cane but a walking stick is another matter! This is a lovely stick and gives me great support when I need it, I am roughly 5ft 6in and this stick comes to just under my chin so it is the perfect height for me. I definitely recommend it you are wanting a quality walking stick or just a good stick for support if you have issues with balance or weakness in your legs.

I love the shape of my stick! It feels like a wizard staff. Maybe I can learn to fight with a staff like Gabrielle (if you know, you my kinda people). I bought a 55” and cut off 3”. It feels really nice and definitely helps my back by having support.
