I’m really impressed with this shelf. It’s well built, feels very sturdy, and the powder-coated finish looks excellent and durable. Installation was straightforward and hassle-free. I also like that it can be mounted upside down to provide additional clearance, which makes it very versatile. Definitely a solid product made from quality materials.

I’m using this DIY Cartel shelf as part of a high-mounted archive rail / micro-library setup, and it has been excellent. The shelf looks clean, minimal, and architectural, but the real strength is that it actually performs under load. Mine is holding a concentrated row of books in a tight space above a doorway, including several heavier hardcovers, and it still presents as stable, sleek, and highly functional. That combination is rare. A lot of minimalist shelves look good but feel questionable once weight is added. This one gives a much stronger sense of confidence when installed properly. What I like most is the balance between aesthetics and utility. The forged metal look is simple and refined, and it turns a previously unused wall zone into something genuinely useful. It works especially well for books, archives, display objects, and small curated arrangements. The shelf creates a strong “floating” effect without looking flimsy or cheap. A few strengths: - clean minimalist design - excellent use of awkward or underutilized wall space - good visual presentation for books and objects - feels much more substantial than many standard floating shelves - ideal for creating an elevated library or display rail My advice is to install it carefully and securely, especially if you plan to use it for books. Once properly mounted, it has the potential to become a serious storage-and-display piece rather than just decoration. Overall, this is a smart purchase for anyone trying to build a compact archive, studio, reading corner, or visually organized living space. It made my setup feel more intentional and much more efficient.

If you are looking for shelves that are sleek, ultra modern and strong, these are it. They can either blend into the background because they are so thin, or make an artful statement against a contrasting wall color or texture. The metal is an unexpected material makes these shelves extra special. Be sure to look at all the pictures. The 2" support lip/bracket is bent at a right angle and screws into the wall . That's it. Simple and elegant. I looked for a long time for 48" long shelves that would not sag and have a modern, sleek appearance. I did not want traditional brackets, plain Big Box type shelves or those thick, gloppy (2") floating shelves that hide the bracket in a hollow shelf. In floating shelves at 48"L, anything thinner than 2" thick sagged. The answer is powder-coated STEEL. These are very stylish and well priced for the quality. I like that they can be mounted with the lip up or down (I chose down for my kitchen). The white powder coat is smooth and durable. Be aware that the 2" lip/bracket has exposed screw holes (5 of them on the 48" size) that give these shelves a slightly industrial look. The screws are visible no matter how you mount them and become part of the design. I do wish the screws were white to blend in more (I may paint mine). Also, you need to buy your own screws. No problem, just fyi. We mounted ours into 2 studs and used quality drywall anchors for the other 3 holes. They are solid as a rock and are supposed to hold up to 70 lbs. I love the look of these shelves. They really make a design statement (in a minimalist kind of way!). Ours are on drywall above some beautiful white tile in an abstract wavy 3D pattern. I think these would also look amazing mounted on textured or distressed surfaces like tile, concrete, brick or wood. If you want your shelves to add dimension to your space, these may be too thin for you. But if you are looking for a super sleek, simple, modern shelf to display objects or keep things within reach, I think these are the best ones around.

I bought another tray similar to this but it actually has a raised front edge which makes it much easier to put spices on it and things that will not slide off and fall onto the stove. But this is still a high-quality product and I know I will find a use for it. I bought it first and forgot that I had purchased the other one.

Super easy to install. Look great. Well-designed, made and painted. I put several around the house creating specific spots to charge phones or hold Bluetooth speakers. (Shhhh- even a couple near commodes as a place to put your phone for a moment).

Shelves are even more beautiful in person very heavy and sturdy.

Great shelf. Strong, metal shelf with a decent thickness. I put this in my cabinets to add more storage space for dishes and bowls. It works really well for that. Does not bend at all. It was a little pricey, but you pay for what you get. Easy to install. Love that they have different sizes. You can see with 8 pasta bowls the shelf does not bend.
