This is a good satellite receiver.
The Traxis 3500 has a ton of features that make it easy to use. The unit is small, unobtrusive and never runs hot. It can handle any Ku band signal out there and will give a decent picture even from weak transponders. It is perfect for legal FTA. It will not unscramble encrypted signals so don't bother to try and use if for DTV or Echostar as you will be wasting your time (not to mention breaking the law). My dish is set at 97 West and the Traxis brings in 202 clear TV channels as well as finding 50 encrypted ones. It also found over 100 satellite radio broadcasts from around the world. It will pick up anything within the North American Clarke belt. This receiver pictures multi-picture functionality that allows you to page through eight programs at a time. Sound will be present on whichever screen you highlight and you can browse the entire Ku band satellite this way. There is also an EPG that will provide info for 16 days. This receiver gives you the opportunity to arrange channels in any order that you want, rename the channels and create favorites lists. All of it is easy to use. You can also change the style of the OSD as it has five color schemes and 6 levels of transparancy. There is also live pause function. You can also use the movable zoom feature and examine any portion of the screen at up to 10 times enlargment. The list button makes channel and satellite sorting easy and you can complete your entire list in under an hour. There is a default GMT clock but you can change it to any military time you need. It supports teletext and you can also set the receiver for secondary audio transmissions. It also has last channel recall. The receiver can handle up to 4000 channels. The blind search is extremely fast. Mine was done in just a couple of minutes. It supports DiSEqC 1.0/1.2 for mulitple LNBF or motor. It offers a lot for very little money and I'm very happy with mine.
