Easy setup, large tent!
PROS: This tent is great. It is very easy to setup and is quite large. My fiancee and I have used it a few times now and each time we got there after people in surrounding campgrounds, and had our tent setup significantly before them. We have brought other people and had 2 blow-up queen sized mattresses fit, with room for our stuff easily. I feel that a 3rd queen size mattress would fit too, but with less room for other things. This tent is pretty tall as well I can stand in it and I am 6' tall, however it does taper down at the sides though. Another great thing about this tent is the bottom of it. the "tarp like" portion along the bottom comes up ~3" up the side which is awesome at keeping the rain out. We had it POUR down raining on one of our trips and everything was perfectly dry inside with NO waterproofing! This tent also has a zippered hole at the bottom for the ability to run wires in/out of the tent also which makes this great if using it anywhere that has power. CON: There are two small things that I do dislike, but the pros listed above (plus the other ones I didn't think to list) significantly outweigh them. My first con is that the door has both a zipper, and Velcro but on mine the Velcro is useless... so each time you want to be sure the door stays closed you need to zipper it, otherwise it is hard to get the Velcro to stick and the door sometimes swings open (but the zippers work flawlessly!) My second con is more about tents in general not particularly against this tent so take it with a grain of salt, but if you setup the tent on the ground the bottom gets wet/dirty and it is hard to clean at at a campsite so you have to pack it away, then when getting home re-setup and hose down and allow to dry etc... Otherwise it is a great tent that I would recommend to anyone even smaller groups can enjoy the ease to setup this tent and have extra room inside!

Buy it
I bought this tent in 2015 and used it every year since. I only threw it away this year but I honestly think I could have made it work a little while longer. I’m just feeling too tired to tent camp these days. So when the tent poles broke this trip (after someone else was “helping” me setup) I just chucked it. I already feel guilty. I honestly can’t think of a negative feature of this tent. We’ve used this tent for countless trips. Some short weekends, some long week trips. From heavy winds and rains to nice sunny days. We only ever got water inside the tent one time. It was our first time setting it up and that night we ended up getting caught in a hurricane. We had made a few mistakes ant setup and once we woke up the next day, dried everything out and fixed our mistakes it never happened again. The rain cover always served us well. When it wasn’t needed, there was plenty of air movement from the 2 side windows, door and top of the tent. Typically, I put it together myself and as my daughter got older she learned to help. It wasn’t “easy” but it was doable. The door was a really great feature especially for the brother who likes to drink by the fire and get up to pee all night or for the 6 year old who just had to go. The entrance was helpful to provide some shelter while you take your shoes off to get inside. We would also tuck our chairs away there overnight so they wouldn’t be wet in the morning. The door having a frame was a convenient feature for kids - you didn’t have to zip it when they ran back inside for their stuffy, you could use the Velcro for a quick fix. Most recently, we fit a king size air mattress which slept 2, another person who is 6’1” alwpt on a sleeping pad, his Great Dane and his bed as well as some fans for circulation. Space was never a problem with this tent. We could hang our lanterns inside for a little light for my daughter. There are pockets for your valuables and flashlights. Not to mention the convenient whole to run power to the tent. I’m trying to give an honest review. I think the only 2 cons about this tent: I couldn’t stand straight up while getting dressed and I’m 5’9” so that was annoying but not a deal breaker for me. The zipper to the door sometimes got stuck but not to the point where you were in a jam. You just go back the other way and it’s fine. Bugs often got caught between the top of the tent and the rain fly, again not a big deal.

Great tent, though coleman support is not so great.
I assembled this tent after receiving it so that I could inspect it and apply seam sealer. The tent itself is very good. It has almost everything I wanted in a tent: a tub floor to prevent ground level leaks, a "D" shaped door ("T" shaped doors have a gap where the zippers meet allowing water/critters to get in), a big screen roof for warm summer days. The only thing it was missing was a floor vent, which is available in the "elite" version, but I could not justify the extra expense for what amounts to a vent and a light. This tent does offer some nice extras that were not on my wish list. Those include good headroom almost anywhere in the tent (not just in the center), a slit for running an extension cord (which will be nice to charge phones/GPSs/2-way radios on long car-camping trips), a large awning over the door when the rain fly is on, and a rigid door with velcro. The rigid door will be very nice camping with kids who sometimes struggle with zippers and seem to always need to be reminded to zip the tent back up. My only gripe other than the lack of a floor vent is the fact that the rainfly is huge and difficult to put on unless you have a helper. The tub floor also causes a tripping hazard by the door but that is unavoidable if you want a tub floor so this is not a negative but something people may want to be aware of. I am quite happy with the tent itself and would have easily given it a 4 or 5 star rating. However, one of the poles arrived with some slight damage to the elastic band. Inside the box we had no fewer than 4 sheets of paper telling us not to return the tent if we had problems but instead to call the Coleman 800 number for a resolution. I followed their instructions since the damage was minor. Unfortunately, it was the weekend and the offices were closed. I called back on Monday and reported the information. I then had to wait a day for their warranty department to send me an email. The email requested photographs of my receipt and the damaged parts to verify I was telling the truth about the date of purchase and the problem I reported. I responded promptly and a few days later I received the new poles... however they were too long. The part number of the replacement poles matched the "replacement pole" kit number in the tents instructions so I contacted Coleman again only to learn that they do not stock specific poles and I would have to use the kit to construct my own replacement poles. Since my damage was minor, this was more of an annoyance than anything else. However, if you have a more serious issue like a cracked or missing pole or anything wrong with the tent itself, then I would recommend exchanging the entire tent rather than going through the Coleman warranty department. ** UPDATE ** I just added one star to the review. We took this tent on a two week camping trip. During the trip, we broke down the tent every 2-3 days to move to a new location. Temperatures ranged from the mid 30s in some locations to the mid 80s in others. Despite only being three of us in the tent, it held the heat pretty well in cold locations (seemed to be about 10 degrees warmer in the tent) but the ventilation was still good in warm locations and it did not turn into an oven. We saw strong winds one night and dizzel a few other nights, neither had any effect on the tent. One evening there was a very strong downpour as we were eating dinner. We were in bear country and did not want to take the food in the tent so we ran to the car to finish eating and then wait out the storm. About 45 minutes later, the rains subsided enough for us to return the the tent. I checked the floors and could not find a single drop of water! The pole help up well and we got pretty good at assembling the tent. One evening we pulled into the campsite with a storm bearing down on us (though it ended up just missing us). Two of us got the tent assembled with the rain fly on "good enough" (ie attached to the tent but not tied down) in under 10 minutes. Other nights we took our time and it probably took closer to 20 minutes. The tent itself goes up quick, just stake it down at 8 points, and insert 4 poles. The poles go in pretty easily do no not snag much on the fabric. The rainfly is the putsy part. It is difficult to determine what is the front and the tent is so high that it almost needs two people to put it on. Once on, there 8 bungied clips that are attached to 4 of the tents stake points (2 clips at each point) and a bajillion velcro tabs that attach to the poles. Once all the velcro points are attached then you need to add another pole and then stake down the flaps near the entry. Needless to say, if you know the weather will be nice, skip the rain fly. We ended up missing one of the velcro points one night and as the wind blew the felcro rubbed against the screened roof and frayed it a little. Overall, though I am very pleased with this tent. It was bone dry after a heavy rain, was easy to put up and take down, was comfortable, and has tons of room. It also packs up to a relatively small area despite being such a large tent.

Amazing tent!!
I LOVE THIS TENT! It’s sooooo big it feels like glamping haha the top is removable to let the air in and perfect for night sky gazing. I think it’s durable and was a good price when I bought it. It wasn’t too difficult to set up although it would help with two people it’s def doable with one. The whole case also wasn’t heavy once it’s all packed up, and we got it all back into the original case when we were done camping too! It fit a full size thick thick air mattress and a twin size air mattress, we also had room in the middle for a small makeshift table. It was perfect for camping and we can’t wait to use it again soon! I wish I had a better pic but I was busy living it up in the wilderness haha you understand!

Sturdy, spacious, easy to assemble
After the first set up is figured out, it's really easy to put together! I use my tents for working at renaissance fairs and this week we got hammered by some rough heat followed by one heck of a thunderstorm! The tent held up great! There was one tiny leak in a corner, but considering how much rain we got all night, I'm still impressed. It was very spacious and comfortable, held up great to some rough winds and was pretty simple to figure out how to assemble solo after the first set up a week prior. Though I camp alone and needed the space to store merchandise and whatnot, there was plenty of room if you wanted to have 2 queen size blow up mattresses in there. Maybe even a twin between them. But I like my space for my writing desk and storage lol ::CONS:: -The door didn't exactly stick shut on the velcro like it was supposed to, but it didn't bug me too much. -The strings on the zippers got sorta confusing (there's several in one spot for the door, a second door zipper, and 2 for the door window) so I attached a Keychain to one of the door zipper strings so I'm not grabbing the wrong one constantly. -I really wish there were more windows. Unless you know which direction the wind will be coming so you can aim the windows towards it for a cross breeze, you really don't get much fresh air in there with the top on it. Granted there's a window on the door, but I wish there was a window across from the door. Even a small one would've been nice lol - The door mat was kind of designed.... weird. Though it was helpful to wipe your feet when coming in the tent, the stakes you attach are on the long-end sides instead of the corners, so it would sometimes fold over when you use it. I plan to alter mine so the stakes are thru the corners. ::PROS:: - I'm 5'7" and had Plenty Of head room in the center of the tent, which is a huge plus when you need to get dressed - The floor seemed pretty thick. There were a lot of acorns on the ground and it was still pretty tolerable. - Speaking of acorns, it was like acorn Armageddon when the wind picked up. I swear the squirrels were chucking them at us at full force at night! They'd hit the top of the tent with such force that they'd bounce off and fly several feet. It didn't seem to cause any sort of damage or bother to the tent though, even during high winds. Can't say the same for my car hood though.... - The tent overhang over the door is super helpful during storms. It was really nice that I could angle the side flaps so I wasn't getting hit with rain the second I stepped out the door and could take shelter there and stay mostly dry. - Plenty of anchor points! If you anchor them all down, it's VERY sturdy during high winds and rain. Definitely was a help to be able to anchor at all areas where some tents don't seem to have enough for stability in winds. -Easy fold up! It looks like it would be pretty complicated but after you fold it in half, it folds up really easy. The top fly is a little harder though lol and I recommend you fold it inside the fold of the tent or it doesn't fit in the bag. All in all, I loved the tent and would definitely buy again. I do plan to spray it with water resistant tent solution to make it more durable, though honestly it seemed fine without it. But better safe than.. well, wet lol

if you want to sleep in a lake...
i have owned many tents in my lifetime as a camper... northface, kelty, mountain hardwear, and really decently constructed colemans. i have 2 1/2 year old twins and wanted to upgrade to a 'family' style tent that would accommodate the twins, my husband, our dog, and myself as well as give us all a little room to hang out inside the tent if it rained during our camping trip. i did a lot of research before purchasing and although i read mixed reviews on the coleman montana 8, of the options out there in our price range, this seemed to be the best option despite the mixed reviews. we just got back from our trip, and i have never owned a tent that leaked... nay - POURED water in on us like this one. i am no tent designer or engineer, but something is seriously wrong with the rainfly design on the coleman montana 8. i know how to set up and properly install tents and rainfly's, as i've been doing it my whole life. and never have i had such a terrible experience with a leaking tent. never. water was literally pouring in the top of the tent and our sleeping bags, our dog, our clothes and ourselves were completely soaked. and it wasn't just leaking in from the seams. it was pouring in from the entire fly. we spent most of the night trying to find a way to get the water to pour off of the rainfly versus pooling up and pouring into the tent. we also accumulated a good couple of inches of rain on the floor - and this wasn't even the biggest rain storm that i've camped in! i've been camping in much worser weather and stayed bone dry in my other tents (one of which is a 20-year-old coleman - something has obviously changed with how they are constructing their tents now...) the tent arrived on time (as expected from amazon!) and was fairly easy to set up. the hinged door is a nice option, but when that hinged door is attached to a really crappy tent? frankly? i'll take the old fashioned zipper door next time and get a tent that actually keeps us dry. i would not recommend this tent to anyone and will no longer buy coleman products, despite years of family loyalty to the company. this was a waste of my money and i now need to go back to the 'drawing board' to try and find a suitable tent for my family that will keep us dry and safe from the elements when camping. do not buy this tent.

Great tent that is durable
I bought this tent in 2015 and we have used it for two weekend camping trips each year since we bought it. It is comfortable and roomy. It is easy to set up with the color coded poles. It does take up a relatively large footprint so you need to be sure that you have ample room to set it up. Setup takes about 10 minutes with 2 people. I am 6ft 2in. tall and I can stand up in the center section of the tent. There are handy loops in the ceiling to hang a couple lights or a lightweight, battery powered fan. The lower left corner of the tent has a handy flap for running an extension cord into the tent without having to run it through the door. The only issue that we have ever had was that the straight pole for the door hinge ended up poking through the bottom of the gasket that it mounts into. It's more of an aesthetic problem than a function problem. The door still works fine.

Great family tent!
Being accustomed to camping under tarps and in 2-man backpacking tents I was a little reluctant to invest in a hotel room sized tent, but my darn passion has led to a family of 5 and we were tired of camping in multiple tents. I had my concerns about how stable such a tent would be in winds, not to mention the tarp coverage in rains, but our first trip alleviated all of these concerns. Setup is pretty straightforward following the directions on the bag. It took my wife and I 20 minutes the first time, and we can do it in 15 or less. If you're not experienced in setting up tents, you might need to double that. It does take some time to properly fasten the velcro tabs on the fly to all of the poles as well as guying out everything, but doing so will make the tent very solid. We had a gusty rain come through on our second day and everything stayed stable and completely dry. The bathtub floor certainly helps keep the floor area dry, and the "welcome mat" is a nice inclusion for holding shoes. The side vents offer pretty good ventilation if you get the tent oriented with the breeze. On the downside, the fly is either on or off given the hassle of putting it on correctly, so you won't be encouraged to pop it off during the day for additional ventilation. It's also quite a challenge to get this big boy back in his sack. Stuffing, my preferred method, is right out. You'll have to fold and roll tightly and carefully and probably more than once in order to get all of the air bubbles out as the fabric is quite windproof. Even then, it's a very tight fit leading to a huge feeling of relief when the zipper finally shuts. It's also beastly heavy, but that's not unexpected for a tent of this size and nature. All in all, I do recommend this tent for the car-camping family. It's pretty comfy for 5 + some gear. Based on what I knew going in regarding size and weight, I can't deduct any stars after a couple of trips. Update 9/14/2016: My family continues to get a lot of use out of this tent. No issues with leaks, rips, broken poles, etc. I'd still rate this tent an outstanding value in the family/car camping realm.

Good tent
I give 4 stars because there is not dividers in the tent. Its nice and big but only one space. I thought it must be inside dividers between the bedrooms and unfortunately NOT. Other than that it's a good quality tent!

Quality and customer service is poor,
This is my first tent, Size is big as described but the quality is bad. Opened up on the day when I arrive the camping site found there are 2 big stains on the front panel and the material below door mesh is broken as show in the pictures. Either it is manufacture faulty or I have got a refurbed tent. (I bought as new) Anyway I am not happy. Customer service is very poor, I have Contacted Amazon US 2 times in last week, no one come back to me.
