The massage and the infrared heat therapy works separately or just together?

Seperately and together. Bought this for my husbands arthritic low back. He says it helps and he has not complained of low back pain since using only 3 times. I used it after shoveling snow and it helped relieve the tension and tightness in my low back.

Can you use it sitting down?

I do not see where it is recommended for that. We have only tried it lying down on the floor or on the couch. I bought this for my husband and it helped his back. I can't say it cured his low back pain but it helped and he has been good for quite awhile and has not need to use it for some time. It is nice to know we have for when he needs again.

Is this product FSA eligible?

I don't know about FSA but I really didn't like the product. It was just too inflexible for my back
