Review: Good home karaoke microphone. - I bought this specifically to use at home for my karaoke setup. It's a little setup that has brought us much fun since we started using it about 1.5 years ago. The karaoke setup has gotten more use due the pandemic, we still wanted to karaoke and the only place to do it was at home. I was using my computer mic (a Blue Yeti condenser mic) and sending the audio straight to a speaker just for the vocals (a Bose Rockin Roller Mini). It worked but I always had to worry about feedback, and it was still better than nothing. I decided I wanted to add some reverb to the karaoke nights and bought a tiny mixer (Behringer Xenyx 1202FX) and this microphone. There are some reviews that say there is noticeable handling noise, there is, I noticed it immediately upon testing. The other thing I noticed was that I was still getting feedback, the speaker I use does face directly to the singer, the mic, and its only placed about 5 feet away from the singer, so it wasn't a surprise to hear the feedback. After changing the settings on my mixer and lowering the mid adjustment knob, I was able to get the mic working with no noticeable feedback, effects, and good volume, minimal change on the handling noise. The handling noise goes unnoticed once the music starts and there is active singing. For my first cardioid mic for my home karaoke, I am completely satisfied with this purchase. I would recommend to others for home karaoke use, I would not recommend for professional use or even just speaking, with no background noise the handling noise is going to be noticeable. Would I buy again? Maybe, this thing is great for an introductory mic but I think I will spend a bit more next time and get the Shure SM58 to use as the main and downgrade this one to the backup singers mic. Maybe I'll change my mind after using this a few more times. If you are looking for a good budget friendly microphone for fun at home karaoke nights then I would highly recommend this. I would not recommend this for professional use or for those of you planning to use it for speaking only, the handling noise is too noticeable. Review: Great value! - The quality you would expect from Sure! These were nearly half the price a local music store wanted. ## Features - EXCEPTIONAL SOUND CLARITY - The PGA48-XLR features a cardioid polar pattern for excellent sound isolation and feedback rejection, delivering clear and natural sound reproduction. - DYNAMIC MICROPHONE - The dynamic capsule of the PGA48-XLR offers high gain before feedback, making it an excellent choice for vocal performances, speeches, and presenations. - ON/OFF SWITCH - The PGA48-XLR includes and On/Off switch for added convenience and control over audio output. - DURABLE AND RELIABLE - With a rugged metal construction and a steel mesh grille, the PGA48-XLR is designed to withstand the demands of daily use, both on and off the stage. - INTEGRATED SHOCK MOUNT - The integrated shock mount of the PGA48-XLR minimizes handling noise and ensures clear audio reproduction. - TAILORED FREQUENCY RESPONSE - The PGA48-XLR has a tailored frequency response that emphasizes clarity in the mid-range and bass frequencies, delivering warm and natural sound. - EASY SETUP - The PGA48-XLR comes with a 15' XLR cable for easy and convenient connectivity to your sound system, making it an ideal choice for beginners and professionals alike. - WHAT'S IN THE BOX - PGA48 Microphone, 15' XLR-to-XLR Cable, Stand Adapter and Zipper Pouch. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00TTQM8Z6 | | Antenna Location | Karaoke | | Best Sellers Rank | #12,064 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #61 in Vocal Dynamic Microphones | | Brand | Shure | | Built-In Media | With Case | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Amplifier, Speaker | | Connectivity Technology | XLR | | Connector Type | XLR | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 4,392 Reviews | | Enclosure Material | Metal | | Frequency Response | 15 KHz | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00042406396325 | | Hardware Platform | Karaoke Machine | | Impedance | 600 ohm | | Item Dimensions | 3.5 x 10 x 5 inches | | Item Highlight | Handheld cardioid vocal mic with on/off switch, 15-ft XLR-to-XLR cable, stand adapter and zipper pouch | | Item Type Name | Dynamic Microphone | | Item Weight | 1.9 pounds | | Manufacturer | Shure | | Mfr Part Number | PGA48-XLR | | Microphone Form Factor | Microphone Only | | Model Name | PGA48 | | Model Number | PGA48-XLR | | Number of Channels | 1 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Polar Pattern | Unidirectional | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Recommended Uses For Product | Karaoke | | Special Feature | Stand | | UPC | 042406396325 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 2-year limited warranty | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Shure - **Color:** Black - **Compatible Devices:** Amplifier, Speaker - **Connectivity Technology:** XLR - **Connector Type:** XLR - **Included Components:** With Case - **Model Name:** PGA48 - **Polar Pattern:** Unidirectional - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Karaoke - **Special Feature:** Stand ## Images ![Shure PGA48 Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with XLR Cable - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71gEsLl7XlL.jpg) ![Shure PGA48 Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with XLR Cable - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81B-bVGK9zL.jpg) ![Shure PGA48 Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with XLR Cable - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71XGgLWT-NL.jpg) ![Shure PGA48 Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with XLR Cable - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61kBnIw-dOL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: What is the difference between pga48-qtr and pga48-xlr?** A: the qtr has a 1/4" cable, the XLR has an xlr cable. We have a package with stand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017RLEPZ0/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me= or the xlr version: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072DX341N/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me= **Q: I need a cable connector to connect this microphone to the machine. What do I need to buy?** A: What do you mean by machine? You can order this mike with a XLR to XLR cable or a XLR to QTR cable. The diference between the XLR and the QTR terminal is the connector. The XLR is a 3 prom jack and the QTR is a 1/4" jack, similar to the 1/8" or 3.5mm jack you use in you cel phone or most of the stereos. If you have a regular 3.5mm input in your stereo, mixer or amplifyer yiu need to buy this mike with a XLR to QTR cable and a Reduction Jack from 1/4" Female to 1/8" Male. All the mikes terminal are XLR Female,, so the difference is at the other end of the cable, You either use a XLR terminal/jack or a 1/4" jack. **Q: If this works wit xvive u3 wireless?** A: I plugged the xvive u3 receiver into my Marshall acoustic amp and the transmitter into my Shure microphone. Works great! Very happy! **Q: Porque me indica que no tiene cable en la descripción.?** A: Biene el cable separado pero en el mismo paquete ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good home karaoke microphone. *by D***J on May 3, 2021* I bought this specifically to use at home for my karaoke setup.
