I'm not sure if it's possible to be in lust with an inanimate object....but I AM!!! This is by far the BEST cocoa butter that I have ever used. It is beige in color with an absolutely heavenly cocoa fragrance, and a "to die for" taste! It comes in a resealable bag for easy storage (although mine doesn't last very long), and the price just can't be beat! I use it to make my own body butters, lotions, lip balms etc. But buyer beware... if this is your intent also and you wish to make 'scented' butters, it has a strong cocoa scent and is difficult to cover without doubling the amount of essential oils you would normally use. This is NOT an issue for me as I love the smell, and anyone I have given any to also comments on how wonderful it smells. Not to say it can't be done, I just prefer not to when using this butter. Ok, aside from the fragrance, this is not at all gritty, when melted or softened, it is soft and smooth and my skin simply drinks it in. You don't "have" to mix this with anything else if you chose not to, stand alone, this product is amazing for your skin! I have also used this for baking, in lieu of butter, and it produces a decadent outcome every time - and I mean EVERY time! It enhances flavors and adds a distinct cocoa/butter undertone that carries almost any recipe to extremes. I get rave reviews from family and friends alike! Not to mention the fact that whatever recipe I am making with this, be it skincare or food, the house is filled with it's wonderful aroma (it drives my dog nuts lol)! The cocoa comes in a heavy duty plastic resealable bag so its easy to store the cocoa if you're not going to use it in one go. The cocoa inside is a pretty solid brick that I had to chisel into tiny pieces to use, because I only need a little bit at a time. The cocoa butter bar doesn't really look like the picture. Instead of being sectioned off into squares, it's more like one large pound of solid chocolate-y golden brick goodness. Every time I open the bag, the delicious smell of chocolate wafts out of the bag and practically straight to my brain. The bag doesn't have any care instructions for the cocoa once you open and use it but I keep it at room temperature (73 degrees F) and it's fine. It's been 2 months since I last used the cocoa and it has retained it's original smoothness and its fragrance. My favorite thing so far has been to make chocolate with it because I tried a couple months without consuming added processed sugar and I fell back on making my own chocolate. It's so easy to make chocolate with and I swear it's better than some of the store brand chocolate because this cocoa just helps it melt into creamy goodness in your mouth! Just mix up some of this, cocoa powder, and your choice of sweetener (maple syrup if you're cutting out processed sugar like me!) and let it sit as a thin layer in a baking pan in the fridge for a half hour to an hour, depending on how much you're making. I added some toasted nuts and/or dried fruits for depth to my chocolate. I've also heard it's great for lotions and creams, but I haven't tried a diy project with that yet. Its moisturizing on its own if I happen to rub a little onto my palms or massage it onto my skin. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for high quality grade cocoa butter because the fragrance and smooth consistency has me SOLD! I'm going to keep purchasing from them as long as I need because for the price, there is really no better deal out there.

So I have been looking to cut down on my carbon foot print and wanted to find a conditioner bar for my hair. This item popped up in my search. I bought it and recieved it quickly. I opened it up and it smells like dark chocolate. A bit overwhelming at first to be honest. Not really a huge fan of chocolate smell but hey its cocoa butter. The bar is huge, and when i opened it up I tried to break it, wouldnt break, I wish it came in smaller chunks or was easier to break up. I had to get a knife and cut it. It crumbled a little. By this point I was not impressed. Jumped into the shower and it was hard to put in my hair and it doesn't sudds up. So I am thinking i just wasted 15 bucks. I think well I will try it instead of my reg bath and body soap which i have used for years. I used the chunk directly on my skin and smeared it all over me. I even decided to try it on my face. I had been struggling with dry skin on my face after using proactive to try to shrink my pores. Immediately I noticed how the water began to bead off my skin. It didn't feel like it had rinsed off but i was kinda in a hurry so I figured I was going to have a bad hair/skin day. I was so wrong! I usually marinate in lotion from bath and body immediately after showering every time. But I felt like the product was on my skin still so i fore went the lotion and grabbed my towel. As I was drying my skin it felt amazing, clean and glowy! I sat down at my vanity and the skin on my face was beautiful. My pores were smaller and it almost looked like i had make up on. I am 40 years old and i felt like it had shaved years off of my face. I didnt even have to put on my moisterizer. I only used blush and mascara and i got compliments all day on how pretty my skin was. I have been using it for 4 days now and i see a huge improvement in my skin texture. It was terrible on my hair but it made up for it ten fold on my skin! My skin has been glowing since I began using this product. What I don't like is the bar is huge and it crumbles when you try to break it up. They need a better mold to make it easier to use. The chocolate smell that was overwhelming softens to a light fresh scent when you get out of the shower and i feel clean and refreshed. I wish I had been using this product for the last 20 years. Kind of a nerdy picture but that is no make up and directly out of the shower.. I had not thought of taking a before picture since I thought this was going to be for my hair. Prior to using this, my face was peeling and dull. I am buying this for all of my friends and family! No more soap.. you should really try this stuff if you struggle w sensative skin or have eczema which it has also helped me greatly. I am an ER nurse and had skin issues on my feet and wow! This is the best suprise I have had in a long time! The last last thing I want to say is that I noticed that I could open my eyes with this smeared all over my face and my eyes did not burn like soap does. I have crazy sensative eyes and it does not hurt when it goes in them. Not that you should put it in ypur eyes, but it made me start to think of the pH of the soaps I have been using and how they must be the reason i have had such dry skin. And I buy high end shower gels from bath and body. I am delighted to have found this product!

I love this Cocoa Butter! My skin has taken a turn to being extremely dry and anyone who has very dry skin knows what a challenge it is to keep moisturized and healthy skin when it is dry; this product is simply wonderful for my dry skin! This butter has made an amazing difference in my skin in such a short time! I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a wholesome butter for their skin. Worth noting: This butter has a strong dark chocolate scent at first, but the strong dark chocolate scent doesn't hang around long if you're using the butter by itself. I've found that I can use this butter and still use my regular scents without any strange cross-scents. For myself, I wouldn't mind if the scent lasted longer as my husband says I smell yummy when I put this butter on and who doesn't want their husband to think they smell yummy!? I feel that this butter is a great buy, a wonderful product and worth buying whether you are using it for skin care or other means.

Smells amazing. Like straight up chocolate. Very aromatic, like reviewers say. Nicely packaged in a resealable bag and the product came intact as a neat brick. I purchased this to make my body butter batch/ all over lotion. If you're interested: I mix 3 parts tropical traditions black label coconut oil to one part cacao and 1 part or more of jojoba oil. The way I blend them is to melt the solid cacao and coconut oil slowly, by combining them, with liquid jojoba oil in a glass container. then i sit the jar and with the lid on (to just keep it from getting contaminated) in a shallow pool of hot water, unsubmerged, just a shallow amount of water. After some time, open and mix with a clean tool. You can also add drops of fragrances that work with cacao the scent, if you'd like. There are some interesting combinations I've found. Then pour the mixed oils into containers and place in the freezer to resolidify, for 20-30 minutes. The unscented jojoba oil acts as a carrier oil that will help the final product be creamy and spreadable and not hard. You can make a good batch of body butter that is healthy and fresh and uses few ingredients which I feel is better for you health and quality wise. I've used this recipe with raw unrefined shea butter before too and a batch lasted for many months and stayed clean and uncontaminated. so I've decided to try using cacao. Mmm. I'm going to smell delicious everywhere, all the time now!

I bought this product with the intention of mixing with other products purchased, to make a rich cream. The cacao butter has a very hard consistency (think of a dark chocolate bar the same size, maybe even a little harder). The only way I have found to break it into small pieces is using a knife which has been held under hot water to melt my way through it. This is not a complaint because there is nothing secondary about using pure cacao butter!! Sometimes I cut off a finger-sized piece and drop it in my hot bath, which leaves my skin feeling luxurious, or I have been rubbing the short end of the huge slab along my body, which melts it into my skin, after a hot bath. This doesn't take any more time than lotion, and in fact is faster. It's undiluted, has no harmful chemicals, and smells & feels heavenly! Of course, cacao butter has always been highly respected as a top quality moisturizer. If you consider using popular store brands, note the ingredients first. I'm a nurse so I am very familiar and particular about "lotions," as I wash my hands many times per day (so many times, my fingerprints have literally washed off!). I am also very aware that it is almost impossible to find products which moisten skin without also absorbing toxic chemicals, which disrupt the endocrine system. This is why I appreciate having access to the potent ingredients of moisturizers, while leaving the harmful additives out, at Amazon prices and spectacular service!

I knew my package had arrived because my entire mailbox smelled like chocolate. Delicious yummy dark delightful chocolate. l rushed upstairs to open it and was floored by the scent once I had the bag open. There are several reviewers who said they received the product in disc shaped pieces, some who said it didn't smell like cocoa butter, etc.. h..I have no idea what they ordered because THIS wonderful hunk of product smells like a chocolate dream and arrived in a big old bar. It is not hard or crumbly. I found the easiest way to apply it was to simply push a bit of the bar up out of the foil and rub the exposed portion directly on my skin, holding the remainder of the bar inside the foil bag. This is much faster and r and less messy than chipping away at the bar, warming up the pieces and trying to control them in my now buttered hands. After a while, the cocoa butter was absorbed beautifully. I wasn't greasy, but my skin felt baby soft. The scent lightened, so I have no fear of smelling like a Hershey Bar all day. I plan to store it in the fridge. Honestly, I have never experienced cocoa butter like this in all my life. You must try it, not only for the awesome quality, but do the math! Your average drugstore quality stick of cocoa butter costs about $3-$4 for about 1 ounce. That works out to $48 or more per pound. That makes this a real steal...and that stuff probably has additives and other stuff that you didn't want if you searched "pure cocoa butter" like I did.

I purchased this to make home made products with essential oils. It came packaged exactly as the pictures in this listing and was in a solid block form. When I opened the bag the fragrance of decadent chocolate filled the kitchen. The Cacao aroma is very strong but not bitter or tangy. It actually smells really, really good! The block is very solid but I was able to cut it with a sharp knife without much breakage or slivers falling off. I melted mine after cutting off the appropriate amount needed in a double broiler on low heat. It melted quickly. Once I mixed my essential oils with it, I needed it to solidify a bit so I made an ice water bath and put the metal bowl in it. It became solid very quickly and was easy to work with. It did melt again quite quickly in my fingers and hands just from my body heat as I molded it into the shape needed but I worked quickly and it wasn't an issue. I definitely would purchase this again. Thank you for a great product!
