Review: Versatile For Men & Small Pets - I bought this for my Maine Coon. He likes the stiffness of the brush. And it helps with his coat. My finer haired Egyptian Mau also likes the brush for her coat as well. The brush is firm without being so hard that it hurts. The bristles are good and sturdy not flimsy. No unusual smells to the brush. I especially like the handle. It has a good sturdy feeling to it. It is comfortable to hold and very durable. I won’t say that it’s ergonomically designed. But it’s easy to handle because it is small and fits in the palm of your hand if you have a big hand; easy to grip. So far it’s been easy to clean with my fingers, but to be on the safe side, I also use a comb to get in between the bristles. It is definitely very portable. You can stick it in a purse, or a backpack, even keep it in your glove box or in that little compartment between the front seats, it’s that small. Overall, good value for the money. Would definitely recommend it for both men with thick or wiry beards and mustaches, as well as for small pets.

I have an incredibly dense, full coverage beard that grows very, very fast. This product is actually capable of going beyond just the surface layer of my beard, and gets the “under coat” (idk what it’s called) of my beard. Which I think is what was throwing off those random strays that kept running from its assigned seat. I have tried dozens of brushes, combs, even picks. This thing is truly the best of them all. And for less than $20, it’s actually an incredible value compared to the literally $80 brushes I have that can not remotely compare. Plus I accidentally drop kicked this thing across my bathroom and into a tiled wall, not a single scratch or dent. He’s little but he’s durable as any other brush I’ve owned. I genuinely do not think I’ll be purchasing any other brand for the foreseeable future, this brush is incredible.

**Q: Would this be too small or harsh for the head? Having a hard time finding a decent boar bristle brush for the head.**
A: This is a smaller brush, and it is a little stiffer than I would personally use on my head hair, but I did try it in my hair and it would work well, just stiffer than I would personally like. I hope this helps.

**Q: can you use beard butter and the brush?**
A: Dear Debbie, thanks for asking your question. You can absolutely use the ZilberHaar Beard Brush to distribute beard butter and you probably have by now. You massage the beard butter into the beard and then use the boar bristle brush to distribute it throughout the beard. Make sure you rinse the beard brush with lukewarm water after use and let it try with boar bristles pointing down, so the pear wood can dry rather quickly and the wood stays protected from the water. This beard brush is very effective in distributing beard oils and beard balms and it should be giving your beard a good treat. Hope this helps.

A: Hi there!,  The natural boar hair bristles are 3/4" long, that's 19mm is funny money!... but believe me when I say, they are long enough to sort out "Grizzly Adams" beard easily, so I'm confident that they will be long enough for your needs!... I've had a beard for about 10 years and it never even occurred to me that a designated beard brush might be a good investment. I only started getting into beard products in the past 2 years. I've been using beard balms and more recently some mustache wax to add a little more definition. I came across this beard brush by accident on a review site and decided to give it a try. One of the best purchases in recent memory. When it first arrived I thought perhaps they'd sent me something else by accident. It arrived in a box scarcely larger than a box my wife's mascara comes in. Upon opening it I found a little brush. It was smaller than I expected it to be, but it turns out it's the perfect size. Any bigger and it would be difficult to use on my mustache. The past few years, I've been noticing some dandruff in my beard, particularly through the dry months of winter. I had hoped the beard ointments would cure it, and they helped, but not completely. Since I've started using this brush, however, I haven't noticed a single flake. This brush really helps to evenly distribute any beard products and to get it right down to your skin. I had used cheap plastic combs before on my beard, but this is a major upgrade. Knowing what I know now, I can't believe I've had a beard for ten years before I discovered this. I can at least hope to use this for the next several decades. And I honestly think this brush will last that length and then some. It appears extremely well made. I can't tell if it has real boar hair bristles, but whatever they are I think they are quality and will last. I'll update down the road and note any issues, but as of now I couldn't be more pleased.
