Best Pitcher to Make Iced Tea
It was time to retire the giant glass jar we’ve made sun tea in each year. It’s too heavy for me to manage, filled with water and tea bags now. We bought the wonderful Poliviar hot tea kettle earlier this year and a friend sent me a trio of flavors to make iced tea with (Harney and Sons Tropical Iced Teas) where you start with 2 cups hot water poured over the large teabag, wait 15 minutes and then pour 6 cups cold water in, take the tea bag out and put in fridge…iced tea. So I knew that I needed a 64 oz jar. I also needed a jar that I could pour boiling water into and later add cold water to. I also wanted a sturdy handle and a form that would fit nicely on the top shelf of my fridge. This pitcher fit the bill perfectly. It’s 68 ozs. I heated my water to 212 degrees and slowly poured 2 cups over the tea bag into the jar. I let it sit 15 minutes with no lid on it. It was still pretty hot when time to add the cold water so I added it very slowly, one cup at a time so as to not shock the jar from hot to cold immediately. It worked great, the tea bag rose to the top, I squeezed the bag and threw it away, put the lid on and put the jar in the fridge because the cold water had adequately chilled the jar by then. The lid has an open pour section and a filtered pour section if you were to put fruit or herbs in it and wanted to filter that out when pouring. I turn the lid so that no section is open while being stored in the fridge. This is that special Borosilicate glass that can take up to 500 degrees F heat. And it may be made of that thin glass but because of the diamond pattern, it’s very solid and strong. The handle is also robust and easy to hold. Lastly, it’s a nice looking pitcher! Highly reccomend!

Great little pitcher!
I find that if I keep a container of water on my kitchen counter - with my 8 glasses per day goal - I drink more because it is more visible. This sweet little pitcher is very pretty and just holds my 8 glasses of water. I can see over the course of a day how well I am doing. It may be a little game I play with myself, but it works. I am very happy with this pitcher, pretty, smallish, lightweight, easy to clean.

Lovely, Practical Glass Pitcher.
I recommend this pitcher. It is a little pricey, but it is light and practical. It is made of glass, which I prefer over plastic, but it is neither bulky nor heavy. It should be handled with the regular care you would use for something made of glass. I didn't think it would hold a full 2 quarts when I opened it up and saw the size, but it does! It fits perfectly in the outer door of our LG refrigerator. I ended up getting a second one. It is easy to hold and pour from. The lid fits well. It doesn't leak, and it keeps unwanted things out, allowing you to store your beverages safely. (NOTE: We use this primarily for cold beverages. We have an induction stove, so I'm not familiar with heating it on a traditional stove. I have a tea kettle better suited for that purpose anyway.)

Great, but it might not fit your fridge
I bought this to make sun tea. (If you don't know what this is, you put water in a glass container, Lipton tea bags, and put it on your sunny deck for the afternoon.) Thanks to COVID-19 it took about a month to get here, which is fine. I was super excited when it arrived. Its diameter is smaller for how much it holds and the metal cap is great. It's very pretty and I was really happy with it. It almost feels like a hard plastic, but it's glass. It's great for making sun tea. I went to put the pitcher in the fridge and it wouldn't fit on ANY of my shelves and I have two different models of fridge. I ended up taking one of the door shelves and lowering the shelf to get it in there. The was the only spot that where the shelves could be moved far enough apart and my other fridge, the shelves couldn't be moved far enough apart. It never crossed my mind that this might not fit into the fridge. Since I can get it in the fridge, I love the pitcher again :) Basically, if you have the room, it's great. If you don't have room, a smaller one will be better.

Nice size for cold brew
This is a beautiful carafe that I use to store my cold brew coffee. It is taller than I imagined but luckily my refrigerator shelves can accommodate it. The diameter is nice for me to hold as I have small hands. This is not a carafe for mixing drinks if you are needing to shake something like a protein drink. The lid is not a tight seal. It sits on top and would not seal if you are trying to shake it. My only negative feedback is the shipping. It arrived loose in a large box and was just bouncing around in there. Being glass, could have easily broken.

After 5 years, still my fav pitcher! Beautiful, light, sturdy!
I've been using this pitcher for 5 years now (bought in 2018) several times a week ~ it it still absolutely FLAWLESS. The handle will not break. Borosilicate glass is stronger than traditional glass (it's used in labs). I had bought this one as well as a same size one in a different style made of regular glass and I quite frankly hate the other one, when full of liquid the other one is a LOT heavier. I keep these on top of my upright freezer to let my tap water age a day or two before pouring them into a big countertop water jug with a spigot, our water here has a 'dirt' taste straight out of the faucet that disappears if it's aged a bit. So I am lifting them up over my head constantly. The weight difference is QUITE noticeable especially above shoulder height. About to order 2 of the 100 oz ones. Oh btw the 68 oz one fits nicely in my small countertop depth refrigerator door too!

Great pitcher. Excellent customer service!
**UPDATE 8/19/18**: So JCP Kitchen saw my review about the uneven bottom and THEY reached out to me. They apologized and explained that the item is hand blown and that sometimes these things happen. Understandable. They said they wanted to make it right and sent me another pitcher. I received the new pitcher and it’s perfect. No uneven bottom! What a great company! They took the time to reach out to me and make it right. That’s a rarity in this day and age. So I’m updating my stars from 3 to 5 because it really is a great pitcher and the customer service was awesome. I will definitely be buying other products from them knowing that I’m dealing with a reputable company with excellent customer service. **Original Review**: Bought this pitcher to make ice tea after looking at what I spend daily for it at certain coffee places. You know what I’m talking about! Pitcher arrived in one piece which is nice whenever ordering anything glass. I noticed what a lot of others have said about the thinness of the glass. Remind myself that it’s borosilicate and should still be strong. I have granite countertops so I remind myself to be careful when setting it down. I set it down and notice it’s a little wobbly. What the heck! I turn it over and there seems to be a bubble like imperfection in the bottom. Like the whole bottom wasn’t flattened fully. I can take my finger and barely pull back on the handle and it will rock backwards about 20 degrees before hitting the edge of the pitcher and then stop. It makes me nervous, wobbly glass pitcher, granite counter top, hot liquids!!! I start having the internal ‘should I send this back?’ conversation but I really hate sending stuff back, especially at this price point. So I decide to do a test run. I put the pitcher in the sink because I’m going to pour hot water in it to brew my tea and if it shatters well it’s contained at least. Pour in the hot water from the kettle and it holds, phew. I let it brew and then fill it the rest of the way with cold water. Let’s see if it’s still wobbly with the weight of the water in it? Yep, still a little wobbly but not as bad. So I decide to keep it because like I said, I hate returning things. I’ve had it for 3 weeks now and it hasn’t busted. However I dare not pour the water in it when it’s on the counter because of the wobble. I just can’t trust it. I have to be super conscious whenever I’m handling it. We’ll see how long I can keep it alive. PROS: Borosilicate glass, can pour hot liquids into it. It’s NOT plastic. The lid is snug and has a “screen” to catch tea leaves for when the odd teabag bursts. It looks very, very nice.**Updated** Excellent customer service! CONS: Imperfection in the base that makes it a bit wobbly. Wish the glass was a bit thicker. Would I buy another one, MAYBE, if I was certain that the base was flat. I really want to give this 5 stars because it does have a lot going for it but I’m going with 3 stars. **Updated** Giving it 5 stars since they sent me a new one without an imperfection and they reached out to me. It really is a great little pitcher.

An odd pitcher, but decent
I've been looking for quite some time for a 3 quart glass pitcher with a lid that wasn't in the style of a mason jar or a punch jug. This one almost, and I do mean ALMOST fit the bill. The pitcher has a very nice design and feels sturdy enough for what it is. The handle design is a bit awkwardly large given the size of the pitcher, but I don't personally mind that much. Now what is truly strange however is the lid. The lid is designed as per the description with both an "open" side as well as a "strained" side. I would imagine this is to prevent seeds or fruit from being poured along with beverages. Seems fine enough right? But wait for it. There's also a rubber gasket that ensures the lid makes a good seal with the glass. This is important for two reasons. 1. If you accidentally tip the pitcher a bit too much while picking up the pitcher or knock it over, nobody wants a mess on their hands. 2. You, ideally want to minimize the amount of air circulating from your refrigerator into the pitcher to avoid taste being effected. However, the lid is completely incapable of performing either function. In spite of the lid allowing strained, open, and what should be "closed" function; and in spite of the gasket indeed making a good seal with the pitcher, the lid is designed in such a manner that there is a gap between the lid and the pouring area on the pitcher. And not a small gap either. If for example you had lemonade in the pitcher and somebody doesn't like pulp and/or is worried about seeds, sure, you can turn the lid to the "strained" pouring setting, but it won't matter. Seeds are small enough to make it through the gap on the pitcher regardless. This of course also means that pulp will also easily make it into your glass as well. Since things of that size will easily make it through the gap, you can be certain that there isn't much air being kept from circulating into the pitcher either. As someone who was once studying to be an engineer of things, I cannot for the life of me figure out why the lid was designed the way it was. If the cap was extended a whole couple of millimeters downward into the pitcher or the pouring pathway cut into the glass simply started a couple of millimeters higher, the lid would seal off most of the air from entering/escaping the pitcher and allow the lid to function in the 3-way open/strain/closed manner that seems to have been intended. But... that's not what happened. Anywho, the pitcher will be more than fine for most. Design-wise it's a nice looking pitcher, awkward handle aside. But if you're expecting the lid to function like a lid... no dice. I might keep it since I'm pretty sure I can rig something to make the lid function like a lid, but we'll see.

Caraffa in Vetro Borosilicato – Leggera, Resistente e Sempre Impeccabile
