ABBREE SMA-Female Dual Band VHF/UHF 144/430MHz High Gain Soft Whip Antenna for Baofeng UV-5R UV-82 Two Way Radio (15.35in)

Well, I've tested this antenna and compared the results with the GT-3TP stock antenna. Here is what I have found.1 - Range testThis was done in a very hilly area which had tree coverage. We were unable to make contact using the Baofeng antenna. When this antenna was used - success over a 10km distance on the 433.5Mhz UHF frequency. The 2M band was unsuccessful.2 - PriceComparing the result to other antenna which were very similar in price this antenna performed the best 5 Stars.3 - BuildThe antenna comes with a set of rubber washes. I did not use them as I wanted a good ground connection. The antenna is a much better fit on the GT-3TP without the washers.I can recommend this antenna.

I got bought this without much expectation for my little handheld UV-5. Due to the terrain at my location it is near impossible to make contacts. The first time I tried this, I made a contact some 29 miles away. He reported I was quiet but understandable.The things to be aware of are, due to the length and weight, it can act as a lever on your handheld, so be careful in case it breaks something. The antenna itself is free to rotate and lean over a bit on it's own connector.

I thought this Antenna was going to be great it does not even receive as good as the original also the transmit is awful not worth the money dont know if it is a faulty return or not i did message a few times no reply !!

I didn't find these any good at all. I bought 2, one for each radio I have. A triband and dual band.I found that the standard antenna, and a Radioddity rd-371 antenna received signals that these abbree antennas just didn't. I tried in multiple locations, and had the same result each time. I was hoping these would be good for when I go camping... But obviously not..I also found that the antenna does not stay erect when mobile, or with any slight breeze these antennas collapse down on them self (hitting the operator in the head - or worse, anyone else nearby), or if the radio is on a table for instance, when the antenna collapses or there is a breeze they pull the radio down.I also found that the weight of the antenna puts a lot of strain on the sma connector, and is a risk of it breaking. so you cant just leave the antenna up whilst walking, you must hold the base of the antenna to stop it damaging the sma connector.These are so totally impractical.I have since found pictures and videos, that these are just made from recycled tape measures... and at £20+ I think well overpriced.so after a drawn out argument with the seller who wanted me to pay the shipping to china, I followed Amazons' advice, and I raised a claim, and got a refund - after weeks and weeks.

Good quality and works well. Only complaint is that the antenna won't stay open as easily over time. I recommend storing the antenna fully open to maximize the elasticity.

I picked up this antenna because it folds down small and fits in my Summits On The Air (SOTA) pack. I had been using a signal stick and tested the 2 antennas head to head. I made 2 contacts with this antenna that I was not able to get with the signal stick. This one got better signal reports every time. One was a 70 mile VHF contact from a summit. I cannot say how long term durability is, but it seems sturdy enough for my use. I am going to continue to use this as a great antenna for the money.

Excelente antena. La ocupo en un baofeng y me funciona muy bien mejorando mucho la recepción.

I have had this antenna for a day and has been good over since I tried to unscrew it today and the whole thing came apart and all the transistors inside fell out. It seems to be very cheap in the little thing that actually connects it to the radio. Other than that before it broke it works pretty well.
