Our old digital thermometer was not accurate, reading all kinds of low temperatures in the low 97s, so I bought this one hoping for more accuracy and was not disappointed. Great thermometer! Super easy: you just hold the flat top part against your forehead, press and hold the front temperature button and then move the thermometer across your forehead to your temple. Then let go of the power temperature button and it beeps to let you know it has read your temperature. It takes about 1 second from the time you touch it to your forehead to when it tells your temperature. That's fast! Your tempurature is displayed in big, easy to read numbers on the front screen. It also has an attachment that allows you to check temperature in your ear, but we don't use that. It has a Mode button for when you want to check the room temperature. It can also check the temperature of a baby bottle, etc., but that's not something we'll use. Just having an accurate, easy to use thermometer is all we want! Now our temperature readings are consistent and range from 98.2 -98.7 like they are supposed to be. We are now confident it will detect a low grade fever, unlike our old thermometer.

Bought this thermometer for my infusion clinic over 18 months ago. Been using it almost daily ever since. I find that it is super easy to use, quick, painless, & conveniently easy to store away in its own little bag. Being a Advanced Practice Nurse Anesthetist, I’ve used various types of thermometers over my 29yr career. I can honestly say that this is probably one of the most accurate thermometers I’ve seen or worked with. I’ve had numerous issues with the temporal thermometers at the hospital. Nothing worse than needing to know a temp on a pt & not being able to get it to work correctly. Was disappointed the other day when my original thermometer started malfunctioning. Realized I hadn’t changed the batteries in it since I purchased it 18 months ago. Now it works like new and I just purchased another one. Read the quick User Guide this time & realized that this thermometer can do ear probe temps too by popping off the top cover. WOW! It also can read the room air temp too. (Not sure why I’d need that but nevertheless) So wished I could’ve had this when my kids were little. Glad I found it now! U won’t regret buying this one for your home or office but do read the user guide to make sure you’re using it correctly.

I finally joined the 21st Century and ordered this Chooseen Infrared digital thermometer, replacing my 10-year-old oral thermometer. Don't know why I hadn't done this sooner. This thermometer is convenient and easy to use. As a senior I sometimes struggle with learning how to use today's electronics, but this was very easy. Just push a button, swipe across forehead and bingo, an instant temperature reading. It's like magic! I like the design. It fits snugly in the hand, the button is conveniently located and the lighted digital display is easy to read. Plus the display will change colors based on your temperature reading with green being normal, yellow being mild fever and red meaning high fever. "AAA" batteries are included and installed but are not activated until you pull out a tab protruding from the battery compartment door, so you know they are fresh. Plus the popular "AAA" size is sold everywhere and will be easy to replace. It's enclosed in a very nice suede-like bag with drawstrings for safe storage. And best yet, it was very reasonably priced. I'm happy with this purchase. Oops, forgot to mention that you can also use this if you want to know the temperature of the room you are in. Neat!

So using it in the ear is 4 stars. It is simple, intuitive, and accurate (Easy to use). The reason for not 5 stars is the temp doesn’t hold for you to read it so ya gotta be quick as soon as it beeps and taking the top off is a bit clumsy; I can see where someone will lose this eventually or it will wear out and be something that falls off all the time. However scanning the forehead is at most is 1 stars. First of all, this is why I bought it, but the darn thing is just frustrating. You press the button and it never beeps to say done, you try it again and it turns off, then you try it again and just hold it as long as you do for the ear and it’s 3 degrees lower (never beeps). So you try it again and totally different temp...never getting the darn thing to beep...ease of use ZERO. The instructions (also zero help) give you no help and after all this, not only are you frustrated but, ya feel stupid that you can get a simple thermometer to work! I used to take vital hundreds of times a day so it’s not that I don’t know how to take a temp, this thing just doesn’t work as all others do and the instructions make it appear it is the same as all the rest. Ugh I hate it and wish I never bought it! Is it me or is it defective? Well at least the ear works! I hope it is an item that will be recalled so I can return it and find another one that actually works. As to the easy to read issue. It isn’t backlit, it is a gray background with black print, it doesn’t stay on long enough, there’s no recall or memory. If you are taking another individual’s temp you will fair okay, but if you are taking your own, it’s not friendly for that.

We have to check our temperatures before going to work/school. The freebie flimsy required 60 seconds to get a reading, and some days it registered nothing at all. The oral electronic thermometer was fine, but also took almost a minute to get a reading (and, of course, had to be cleaned well). Too much time when there are 2-3 of us trying to get out the door at once. The infrared thermometer registers a temperature in 3-5 seconds, and aside from a quick wipe, it doesn't need to be cleaned (because it's not going in anyone's mouth). It's pretty consistent in the readings it gives, and it's easy to read. It's comfortable to hold. It's fairly easy to use: you put it to your forehead, depress and hold the button, run the thermometer across your forehead to your temple, and then let go of the button. It has other modes too (measure temperature in the ear, measure the temperature of an object in the room). We haven't used those other modes, but I imagine some people might like the extra features. Quick and easy--just what we needed.

It kept saying my son's temp was over 100 degrees or in high 90's so for a few months I am freaking out and the doc was giving antibiotics due to this. My son has a doc who visits my home due to my son having cerebral palsy so I called with temperature from this stupid piece of crap which was wrong the whole time. I cannot return it. The stress of knowing your child is sick and one day it going within high 90's giving a little relief then the next day back at 100.5 or around and nothing seeming to help only to find out it was this stupid thermometer the whole time. JUNK! Plus I cannot return it ... too late. -> I will report this as defective! Parents do not need something that is sooo inaccurate when it comes to their kids safety. **You too can report for being defective so be sure to do so.** They obviously paid people for positive reviews because no way this is a top thermometer with wrong temps. I checked my son's temp with a different thermometer and it was normal ... 97.9!!!
