Would this fit / mount on a frontrunner Slimline II rack?

Yes this will mount to a front runner rack but check with front runner on awning mounts that will be sold separately. We include brackets to mount to just about everything but they make brackets that will make the installation much easier.

What is the wind rating to keep it free standing and not use the poles?

I took it down in 30mph winds an it stood strong with no issue. This thing is a beast it's made very well
