Perfect for wall tent
Tried 2 of these lanterns in a 15'x 21' canvas wall tent last fall as a potential alternative to running 2 propane lanterns. We've always ran propane, but with advances in LED lighting technology, I thought I'd give these a try. I still brought the propane lanterns, however these LED lights proved to not only put out as much or more light, they are cleaner, more convenient, and take up less room than propane lanterns and fuel. I was somewhat concerned about members of our hunting party complaining about the lack of our "traditional" propane lighting with the usual "hiss" of the gas lanterns, however everyone loved the quietness and brightness of the LED lights. I removed the diffuser and then hung these upside down by the hook on the base of the lantern. We found this to provide the overhead lighting. All of the settings provided ample light. The big question was battery life, and how often would we need to replace the 3 D cells in each. I brought a 24 pack of Amazon D cells. To our surprise, the battery life was fantastic. I only replaced the batteries in each once over the course of 12 days. I'd estimate we ran the lanterns for 3-4 hours/day. We are now officially going to switch to these LED lanterns and skip the propane. I liked them so much, I bought 4 more upon returning home. These are small, super bright, and battery life is impressive for the light output. (Initially I tested one with cheap Dollar Tree D cells and even with those the battery life was impressive). I would never consider taking these on a backpacking trip as D cells are heavy and bulky, but for car camping or at-home use these are great. If you're like us and have always used gas lanterns while camping, these are an efficient alternative and a viable option if you'd like to leave the propane and/or white gas at home and not deal with fuel, lantern mantles, glass globes breaking in transit, and potential fire hazard.

Brightest lanterns I now own - very happy with this purchase
Summary. I really like these lanterns. They are the brightest emergency light source I now own. I like the fact that they have separate settings for turning on blue/white light, another setting for turning on warm white light and another setting for turning on both the blue/white and warm white LEDs on at the same time. So I give these lanterns 5 stars as they all worked the first time as soon as I put in the batteries and because of being the brightest lanterns I've ever purchased. Details. I bought these lanterns to have a bright emergency light available for power outage situations and boy or boy, they certainly do the job. They are very bright and the brightest emergency light source I have ever purchased. They are powered by 3 type D batteries so when inserted the lantern is not as light weight as other lanterns which are powered by AA batteries. However, being powered by D batteries should mean the lanterns will last longer than alternatives powered by smaller AA batteries. The manufacturer implies it should run 12 hours on the highest setting. I have not tested that. The manufacturer also seems to state you should not try to run these lanterns on rechargeable batteries. I suspect the problem is rechargeable batteries can output about 1.25 volts while standard alkaline batteries output 1.5 volts. So the pros: 1.) Worked as expected right out of the box once batteries were inserted and 2.) Are easy to hang up anywhere you would want to, 3.) are very bright and 4.) 3 D batteries should last longer than any lanterns powered by AA batteries. The cons: 1.) Some other lanterns may be more amenable for carrying around outside in adverse conditions. Not saying these aren't designed for rain but only that I have other lanterns that I'd probably bring outside in the rain before I tried these. 2.) These lanterns were more expensive than some alternatives. 3.) As you have to apply pressure, putting new batteries in is a bit of a pain. You also have to make sure you orient the batteries correctly which may not be obvious. (Please note, you will see me put in batteries in my attached video. I subsequently learned the manufacturer has included a video with this item on Amazon that shows how to make this process easier. You essentially put the lantern upside down on a table which makes it then easier to apply the necessary pressure when screwing in the bottom of the lantern. Recommend you check out their video.) Update: just for my knowledge, I removed and replaced the batteries several times to see if I could make the process easier. One time after I inserted the batteries and screwed in the bottom, it did not light. After simply taking off the bottom, jiggling the batteries and rescrewing in the bottom, it then worked. So there may be some fuzziness along those lines requiring repeated tries when putting in the batteries. Nonetheless, I have working lanterns at this time. Now I'm going to give this product 5 stars primarily because it works and is the brightest set of emergency lighting I now own. However, at the same time I purchased two other types of emergency lanterns and I am equally happy with them for different reasons. I encourage anyone reading this to click on my profile and read the reviews of the other two lanterns I purchased at the same time. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. I am nonetheless very happy with this purchase and should I need more emergency lighting I would not hesitate in purchasing them again.

Small Lantern with Huge Light Output
Really nice little lantern that gives off a tremendous amount of light. Bought to replace a lantern that we found no longer worked when we had a recent power outage. This new lantern uses 3 D cell batteries and says it gives off 1000 lumens and while I cannot verify that number, it is very, very bright - enough to light an entire room. The lamp puts out more light than the big heavy Coleman lantern I have that uses 8 D cell batteries. You can carry/hang the lantern by its handle, or even hang it with a carabiner clip that folds up in the base. The diffuser also comes off so you can project light straight from the dome light on the base. The lantern has different modes and all can be dimmed/brightened by holding down the power button. 2 modes project a very cool white light (I couldn't really tell the difference between them but supposedly each is a slightly different "temperature" (how warm/white the light is). There is a mode where the light is noticeably warmer (less white), but it also seems to emit less actual light. There is also a mode where the light flashes. The new version of the lamp is rated to provide 1000 lumens and it does not have a light that blinks when not in use - I believe the older model with less lumens did that but mine does not. Batteries are a bit of a pain to put in - screwing the base back on is a bit tricky - you have to really press down and keep turning until the base threads and screws in. I can't speak for battery life yet, nor for how rugged this is - it looks like it could take some rain (if the base is screwed on correctly) but I'm not sure you want to really rely on it to survive a jungle trek or white water rafting where it could get submerged - it is not rated to be submersible. Overall a nice little lamp for camping or power outages - not big or heavy but capable of putting of huge amounts of light.

Brighter than the Rayovac Sportsman LED Lantern
I recently purchased the Rayovac Sportsman LED Lantern (SE3DLN) and the Lighting EVER LED Lantern, Ultra Bright 300lm, Home, Garden and Camping Lanterns and I must say that I really like the both of them. I tested them both using fresh alkaline D-cell batteries. Both are ruggedly constructed and both feel like they are built with quality materials plus they both diffuse the light pretty evenly. The only differences are: -The Rayovac Lantern has a rubber grip handle whereas, the Lighting Ever Lantern does not -The light diffuser on the Rayovac has a snapping or clicking sound when fully screwed into place and locks into place, the Lighting Ever does not but, it feels that it will not come loose while jiggling it around and will stay put -The plastic light diffuser on the Rayovac Lantern is noticeably thicker than the Lighting Ever Lantern thus, appearing to be able to take a little more abuse than the Lighting Ever's plastic light diffuser -The protective LED globe(or cap)within the light diffuser of the Rayovac Lantern is frosted so it's easier on the eyes, the Lighting Ever Lantern does not have a frosted LED cap thus, it is harsher on the eyes -The Rayovac has 3 LED lights vs the Lighting Ever's 1 LED light (the single Lighting Ever LED bulb is larger than any one of the 3 Rayovac's LED bulbs -The Lighting Ever IS slightly brighter than than the Rayovac. Rayovac's claimed specs on label: 240 lumens/ 40hrs run time on high (15 meter beam distance)/ 90hrs run time on low at 100 lumens (10 meter beam distance). Lighting Ever's claimed specs on the box: 300 lumens/ 72hrs run time on high/ 144hrs run time on low at 150 lumens/ 240hrs run time on strobe mode. My final conclusion is that both lanterns are great but if I had to choose one, it'll be the the Lighting Ever lantern because it is brighter than the Rayovac, it seems to be more efficient than the Rayovac since its single larger LED bulbs draws less energy than the Rayovac's slightly smaller three LED bulbs, the Lighting Ever Lantern came in a box protected in a bubble wrap bag (the Rayovac didn't) and, it costs less than the Rayovac Lantern. One thing I noticed though is that the Lighting Ever Lantern emitted a very slight high pitched keening hum. You can hear it when your close to it but, it is barely noticeable nor bothersome. Nevertheless, the Lighting EVER LED Lantern, Ultra Bright 300lm, Home, Garden and Camping Lanterns is a WIN WIN!

1000 lumens seem to be real! Compact, bright, light, well designed.
Just returned from a camping trip... We stayed there for three days and used these lamps (we bought a set of two) quite extensively. When they arrived, I was happy to see how compact and light they are. They do not take much room in the car or in a bag (or even in a backpack), and light enough to hang them in the tent. Battery compartment seems to be well designed. I was worried that rotating bottom may have contacts which could be damaged during rotation, but they designed in such a way that as long as you think about in which direction the bottom should be rotated to lock it before turning it, they will just slide over the contacts. Brightness of the lamp was a surprise. We camped with a friend who has a gas lamp rated at 1000 Lumens. He likes to hang it over the camping table and I was always impressed by how much light it generates. So, we did a test - I was holding one of these lamps over the other side of the table, at the same height as the gas light, and we watched the shadow from a camp stove in the middle of the table. Initially, I was disappointed to see that a fully assembled LE lamp could not cancel out the shadow from the gas light, in fact, it did not even come close. I was close to concluding that it was providing 500 Lumens at best. But then, it occurred to me to remove the cap (the lamp easily separates in two halves, the top part just screws off, and then you get direct light from the LEDs through a plastic done-shaped cover, instead of light dissipated by the reflector) - and voila, its brightness has increased dramatically and has beaten the good old Coleman light by a wide margin! Everyone is our group was impressed. Our batteries lasted through our 3 days of camping with a margin to spare, so I cannot comment on the battery life, but there were reports here on Amazon that 3 D-batteries last 12 hours on full power. The last but not the least, this lamp not only has several modes, but its brightness can be adjusted smoothly within a wide range by pressing and holding the black power button. Its top handle is great to carry it while walking around the campground after dark, the small hook at the bottom is excellent for attaching it to the ceiling of the tent. Definitely a keeper for us!

Love these!
Don’t let the small size deter you. These are super light weight and easy to carry. They light up the room in a nighttime power outage better than expected. They are also great wherever you need extra light like under a sink when making repairs or a quick extra light in any dark space like a closet. Highly recommend.

Great for camping or emergency lighting
I was looking for a replacement to my 10+ yr old camping/emergency lights and was impressed by the size and design. According to the many reviews the light output was great, the size right sized and etc., we all know the typical write up, I decided to try them so I ordered 4, two for the house and two for camping, they arrived quickly, were very well packed as expected. I liked the feel of the light, nice solid feeling weight even without the batteries. The controls are very easy to figure out and was anxious to try them out do when it got dark, I loaded the batteries and then tried one indoors and outside. One light inside in the living room area, approx. 15 X 25 ft was completely illuminated the light no matter which setting I used. the light so good then even the half bath off the living room was illuminated enough to use. The back yard was like daytime almost and even when i moved to the parking area, I live in a townhouse, the light was able to illuminate the area very well, approx. 20 parking stalls. I like the soft light setting, more of a relaxing light rather than the very bright white light. I whole heartedly recommend these lights, they are simple to use, they can hang upside down or set on a flat surface, produce a good clear light and they did not get hot to the touch, ( i only had them on for a couple of hours).

Great lights - recommend
These lanterns are great. They are very bright when needed, but can also be set on a dimmer mode. They are well built and stand up well. I like that you can hang them from the top or the bottom, making them more flexible when lighting things. The best feature is that they take normal D size batteries, so when you are heading out, you can make sure they have new batteries, and you can take spares if you need to. No worries like the rechargeable lights about whether they are charged, how to recharge them when you are out, and whether they are still holding a charge properly and last under use.

Neue Marke, Top Preis ! Super Qualität und sher Hell !
Hallo !
