I noticed the bagged ones are cheaper than the boxed ones, even for the same weight. Is there a reason for this? Also, which one would you recommend?

I bought the gum in plastic bag and the shipment was horrible. The gum had melted and clumped together and stuck on the plastic by the time it arrived from Greece. You might want to try the boxed ones for better luck.

Not in a grinder or mill it will gum up but you can mash it with the side of the blade of a knife.

How do you effectively rid of the chalky texture or sand-like bits when first eating a fresh piece? I have tried soaking it in water for 5 minutes.

Hi Gorobei, I am a organic chemist with a masters degree. I'm not an expert in natural gums, but I do understand their chemistry. Natural gums can develop hydroperoxides with exposure to sunlight and these in turn can create allergens in the gum that can cause adverse skin reactions to the sensitive lining of the mouth. I don't recall what Ana commented, but I think she disagreed.

Impressed by how quickly they arrived from Greece.

They arrive promptly and I enjoy them every day. Definitely beats chewing gum and so much healthier. I know most people use them for cooking but I'd heard that they are helpful in battling h pylori so thought why not? If you are looking for chewing gum, you will probably not want this. lol I'll order again.

Authentic product, very happy. The only issue is the mastiha arrived as one block. Not tears. It is heat sensitive and traveled along way to Australia

Disgrace, I have no other words.I used to live in Greece and Mastiha is a wonderful thing. I was excited for this product.See the pictures attached to see what I received- a melted and refrozen disgusting blob that looks more like frozen vomit than the real product.I tried to take a small piece- but it was horrible. taste ok- but texture so different that the original mastiha that I had so many times! 24 hours later- and i was still try to get rid of the yucky goo that was almost fused into my teeth.Unbelievable disappointment!

Fresh Mastic Gum

My husband loves this....super fresh and not hard...like other mastic gum. Great price, but it takes a while to get to you...but it is a good, fresh product!

Dirty and missing some weight!

I've ordered this item a few times and noticed that even though it says 100 gr, it usually missing 3 or so grams. Last order had some strange blue specks attached to the gum....seems dirty...is this safe? When I wrote to them about it no one answered.
