Seed Needs, Mixed Cacti/Cactus Seeds - 130 Seeds for Planting - Great Plants for Indoor Office Spaces, Easy to Grow (2 Packs)

On the first attempt I tried to treat them like any other plant. I got a few sprouts but wasnt satisfied. On the second go, I used a substrate that was about 80% sand and 20% coir. I put the substrate in two small bins, about 3/4 inch deep. In the bottom of the middle of each small bin I cut a whole about 1/2 inch in diameter then set both bins in a larger bin. Soaked the seeds for about 12 hours then used a pipette to place them all over the substrate, trying to avoid having stacks of seeds in one spot, but leaving them on top of the substrate. Then, I added water to the larger bin, allowing it to flow around and under the smaller bins, so that the water is sucked up into the substrate through the holes. On the first watering, I allowed it to nearly float the seeds, then subsequently added water to the larger bin only when the edge of the substrate looked like it was drying out. I have scores of little cacti now, including two new kinds that didnt come up on the first round. They sit under a powerful LED for 14hrs daily and are doing quite nicely. I bought the cactus seeds for a very small terrarium project. They germinated very quickly after planting while sitting on a heating pad. It's the dead of winter here so the heating pad was is a must. The pictures are 3 weeks of growth after planting. I would 100% buy again.

Not one seed grew! And I tried 4 diff ways... and every single one of my other seedlings hatched and I planted at least 50 seeds not including flower seeds

many of the cactus seeds germinated it would have been nice to have a different variety in there. There were too many of the same kind very pretty once they get growing good value for the money, but the variety needs to be improved.

UPDATE: I was contacted by the company who offered to refund my money. I greatly appreciate a company that stands by their product so I updated the rating and I will continue to buy from Seeds Needs in the future!!!!! I tried with lights during the day and spritzing the seeds with water once a day, I tried without lights and spritzing once a day, I tried without lights and less spritzing - nothing worked!

Seeds are amazing i had my first seed sprout within four days the the other one shown popped up overnight it has been exactly a week today since I’ve planted them and they are doing amazing. TIPS: take your pots with the sea planted in them in the bathroom while you shower if your house doesn’t have much humidity, it helps them ALOT before taking out of the bathroom put a plastic cover on top to trap in humidity (I use a disposable plastic glove and a hair tie). Keep doing this until you feel it isn’t necessary.

I am super impressed with the germination rate of these seeds. I planted them per instructions and within a few days they were popping up everywhere in the bin. The plants are strong and the different types are evident as they sprout. I grow cacti as a hobby and wanted to add to my collection I've grown. This was a great buy and more than worth the price for the seeds. Still waiting for the prickly pear to germinate but they are swollen and some look as though they are about to break open. They have not molded like seeds I've gotten from other companies have so I am hopeful they sprout. Update- I just wanted to do an update to this review because I am amazed at how well these cacti have been growing. It's been almost a year and they are much larger already than my first try with another seed company. I bought 2 packs and planted all of them. Over 500 seeds germinated from those two twin packs. The majority of plants are strong wich is great. I will say it again well worth the money.
