Paint brush cleaned up easily
Worked great. Had a brush with paint on it sitting in water for 2 days and when this product arrived I put the brush in it. Cleaned up very easily with a brush.

getting 18 soaks from a quart
After 35 years, there was probably some dried paint in the heels of my favorite brushes. I bought a quart of Krud Kutter because any dried paint will impair a good brush. If I had a round can just big enough for my 4โ brush, I'd need a quart to fill it to the ferrule. I've seen it advertised at $14 a quart. That could cost more than a new brush. In the 1980s I made a box to soak my 4โ brush with only a little paint thinner. I used two fat nails for pins near the top of my plywood back. They would support the box on the shoulders of a hanging brush. If I tore two holes near the top of a sandwich bag, I could put the brush in the bag and hang the bag on the nails. The side pieces slope because a paint brush tapers from heel to toe. The bottom piece has a groove to catch the bottom edge of the masonite cover. I ground a slot in the cover so I could see the level of the paint thinner in the bag. Each side piece has a staple so I can slide a wire through to hold the cover against the brush to keep the bag from bulging. It takes 50 ml to fill the bag to the ferrule, so I a quart would let me soak the brush 18 times with 40 ml to spare. I let the brush soak in Krud Kutter for 48 hours. It felt pretty good before, and I think it felt better afterward. The cleaner had turned milky. Next time, I may let it soak a week. I wonโt need Krud Kutter often. When I use latex paint, I wash and comb my brushes, wash the plastic paint pail, put in a couple of teaspoons of washing soda and a few drops of dish liquid, fill it to the brim, and add the brushes. In a day or two, the soda will loosen any paint I didnโt wash out of the brushes or the pail. Acetone may be the best stuff to soften a lot of hard paint. It won't harm nylon, polyester, or polyethylene bag. It's pretty expensive, and it evaporates fast in an open can. If I ever need it, I'll use a box. A box to soak my smaller brush won't need to be as stiff. I may make one with corrugated paper, cement, and rubber bands.

A product worth having around if you forget to clean your brushes right away!
This stuff is great for cleaning brushes! I'd only been able to find small containers of it locally, so to find this larger bottle makes it so much easier and economical! Sometimes I forget to clean my brushes and leave then in the water (I'm a bookbinder and so its the brush I use for glue) and when the water evaporates all that remains is the glue which will ruin the brush! So it works great and I've never really noticed any kind of smell particularly. I love this product and recommend it to anyone who uses brushes of any kind for art or other functions!

Like new
Great craft brush cleaner. Makes the fibers so soft and like new. No powdery residue.

Disappointing
Did not work as advertised at all. I followed all instructions and was really hoping it would work. It looked like the paint from the brushes was coloring the liquid however, the brushes remained stiff and unusable. It seemed like there was very little removal of paint even with added use of a paint brush cleaning tool. We threw the rest of the bottle in the trash...super disappointing.

Not the best cleaner
Could be better for removing stuck on paint on brushes.

It is unbelievable
I could not believe the results. I have the original color of the bristles back, my hands are still clean, my lungs did not inhale chemical. It is relatively cheap compared to other products. You have to try it before you believe it. For me I did not even had to use the metal brush (which actually spoils the bristles). I donโt know what to say. Painting brushes are expensive and not all are suitable for everyone. So once you have a good brush you must have this cleaner.

Perfect!
This is a kind of brush cleaner I was looking for a long time. It is perfect for your painting brushes whether you use oils, acrylics or any other kind of paints. It wonโt damage your brushes as well after cleaning make sure to wash your brushes in the end with warm water to remove all of the soap. The famous brush cleaners were a big disappointment and so expensive for no special reason!!
