Why does your package say 2 caps-day telling total lutein is 20 mg per serving of 2 caps? It's supposed to deliver 40 mg per serving.

2 capsules is considered 1 serving. 1 serving is 20mg Luetin. 2 servings (4 capsules) would provide 40mg of Luetin. Rather it's suppose to deliver 40mg or not, the label on the bottle is followed for any medication or supplement.

What is the ascorbic acid derived from? ( corn or beets?

I have no idea were they get the ascorbic acid from. Sorry wish I had that answer for you. It would be cool if it came from beets. I chose Health happiness Areds 2 because it has Lutein 40mg with Zeaxanthin, Astaxanthin 12mg. Most of the other brands don't have the Astaxanthin. As for the vitamin C (ascorbic acid). I really didn't think much about it because the body doesn't retain vitamin C. I hope my answer helped you in some way
