This mirror is a quality product that definitely met and even surpassed my expectations. It's easy to position, it's easy to adjust, it stays in place even on bumpy roads. I was thrilled because with our first baby on the way, I had spent way too much time researching every knickknack that we thought we would need, and I had forgotten about the car mirror. So, basically I skipped the research and bought this because it looked good and was inexpensive! Worked out extremely well. I don't have experience with other mirrors to compare it, but I don't see how you could improve on this design. Ours came with a bonus of some hooks that you can attach to a stroller. I did not anticipate using these, but it turns out that they are also great and I now use them all the time on our stroller. They were an excellent alternative to the "mommy hook," which didn't work well with our particular stroller as it prevented us from folding it up easily. These Dwelling Place hooks however are very lightweight yet strong, and can be attached pretty much anywhere depending on what works for you. It's a little hard to explain but the little hooks can be swiveled which is also very handy. Very cool, simple product. Even without the stroller hooks, I would call this mirror an excellent value, I highly recommend if you are in that frenzied state of comparative shopping like I was!

My youngest son is still rear facing and I like to be able to glance back and see what he is doing in his seat. He also enjoys looking at himself in the mirror. We received this baby mirror in nice packaging and the mirror portion was protected with film. The part of the mirror that sits against the headrest is padded so it won't damage your car. The mirror is held on by two straps which you position around the headrest in an "X" position. I was able to install the mirror securely in less than a minute. A great thing about this mirror is that it is crystal clear and can rotate 360 degrees. Since it rotates, I can position it exactly where I need it to be able to see my son. As an added perk, they threw in two stroller hooks. They are actually pretty sturdy. Great mirror! It's bigger than it looks in the pictures, and it works perfectly. At first, I was looking for a glass mirror for clarity. But after reading reviews and safety articles, it's a big no-no to have a heavy glass mirror in the car, as they're heavy, can break, and can become projectiles in a crash. Not being glass, I wasn't expecting much in the way of clarity from a plastic mirror. However, after I mounted it and peeled back the protective film, I found that this mirror is excellent! Mounting the mirror is simple enough, although I wish the straps were a bit higher quality. They seem to slip through the clip tensioners a bit too easily, but it hasn't budged since I strapped them down tight. Once you set the mirror's angle, it stays put pretty well. I have a somewhat stiff suspension (VW GTI), and although I can see it vibrate, the angle never changes. I'm not sure what to say about the stroller hooks. I don't use them. A bunch of other reviews rave about them, but they're probably paid reviews. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them, and I haven't used them at all (even though one is attached to the stroller). I haven't tried the other mirrors, but this one probably just as good as the other black-framed ones selling for $10 more.

When I got my carseat inspected at the fire station, they recommended not to put up this type of mirror because it can shatter in the event of an accident, even the plastic ones. So, I didn't have one for my first born, and I've always wondered what he was doing when he was rear facing and if he was ok. We decided to get a mirror for my 2nd son because we got a new vehicle with a tv installed. We wanted him to be able to watch tv while rear facing. I'm glad I bought this mirror, but I don't know how it compares to other ones. But I love the fact that I can see what my baby's doing (in daylight- this mirror's useless at night unless you have the light on). It does shake A LOT while driving like others said, so this mirror isn't useful for what we originally bought it for. However, the baby doesn't seem to be looking at the mirror while the car's in motion, anyway. It has been easier to put the baby in the car seat when he's fussy because once he looks at himself in the mirror, he's all smiles. Love that it's big.. Love that it's clear.. and it being plastic makes me feel better about having it up!

The Dwelling Place mirror arrived in perfect condition. It is a pretty large mirror and the clarity is great. I thought it also looked classy compared to some of the other back seat mirrors I've seen. I've listed the pros and cons below. Pros: Size: Large mirror so the visibility is great from the front seat Sleek looking mirror It is crash tested and shatterproof Came with 2 Free Stroller Hooks which was nice a nice touch Cons: The product states that it works with any back seat headrest. If your headrests do not have the adjustable metal bar there is nothing for the straps to hold onto so it slides off and could fall onto the baby. If the straps on the mirror were longer I could have possible gotten them tight enough to stay onto the non adjustable headrest. While I liked the mirror it did not work in my husband's jeep but it did work in my car where I have the metal adjustable headrests. Just a heads up if your headrests don't have that feature.

My car has very small back seat headrests (hatchback) and every mirror I've had prior, I've had to install in some weird way to get it to fit. Most of the time that distorts the view and the stability always made me worry in the event we'd be in an accident. This mirror has a very small base which is perfect for the headrest. The adjustable straps make it a lot easier to adjust too. I haven't had any "slowly dropping down" issues others have had even while driving on bumpy roads. It's so great my husband got one too! His car has larger headrests and it still fits his perfectly! Now I recommend this to everyone. Plus the price is lower than the terrible ones I've gotten before.

Just installed it yesterday and tested it on the way to the pediatrician's office for our newborn's 1 week check-up. It's pretty sturdy and stays in place. Initially, I've tightened it really tight and I saw the rear bottom portion of the headrest get bunched up. I didn't want to damage the leather so I've loosen it up a bit (still quite tight) and straighten out the folded portion but the mirror still stable even while driving. It does vibrate a bit at times but you are in a moving car and not constantly looking at the mirror so I think this is not a big issue. Once adjusted to the desired angle, the mirror didn't move around but I haven't hit a big bump yet and I'm driving carefully when the newborn is in the car, so we'll see. Also, the car seat and the mirror is placed on the driver's side and I'm able to see the reflection fine on the rearview mirror while driving.

The unit was extremely well made with shatterproof flexible mirror. Easy to install. Works great. Only thing I wish this company made as an accessory for this item is a “Wieghted (bean bag type) strap that could lay over a second row seat and attach to the mirror, so as to allow it to mount in vehicles that don't have a headrest in the second row where you would place the rear facing car seat. I would gladly buy one if this was available. As delivered, the unit is great and works as advertised!! VERY HAPPY!!
