can it be used for automotive paint?

Hi Paul, Of course, it is perfect for automotive paint. Best regards, Jolina

The Airbrush comes with 3: 0.2, 0.3, 0.5 mm. I believe the installed ones are 0.3mm.

Air inlet cap item #16, should it ne removed? I would think yes, so piston can get air?

hello, Please don't remove the air inlet cap, it's used to filter impurities.

Is an external moisture trap recommended as well? If so, any recommendations for this model? I am getting some water in sprays after a few minutes.

If you are getting water sprays, then get a moisture trap. The regulator has a small one, but if moisture is a problem, get a more effective one.
