is it safe for little turtles?

I am applying that API Ammo Lock on fish tank. I am not sure if it is safe for little turtles.

Since this only detoxifies ammonia, is there a chemical additive that removes ammonia? and not a filtering device.

Chlorine but of course you will kill your fish, I actually tryed this product but in my experience did more bad than good. If you really want to remove ammonia in a safe way you will need to do water change daily first day 50% after that 20% for at least 5 day and then check your water parameters. Don't add more fish until your filter is cycled.Of course if your filter was never cycled you will have to continue doing water changes every other day 10-20%. Good luck and take care.

Is Ammo lock usable in a tank with shrimp and snails?

Yes, this product is safe for shrimp and snails provided you follow the label directions carefully. It detoxifies ammonia quickly and also removes/detoxifies chlorine and other harmful contaminants from tap water. Yes. I highly recommend this product especially for crowded tanks. It's been a real lifesaver for my 30 gallon densely populated Cichlid aquarium.
