I don't have the dimensions but this item arrived broken and bent. I'm returning it.

Yes there is a space in the front railing. As you can see in the video, we used two shelves and took one side rail off and put them together.

Looks good but not easy to install

The shelf looks good overall. But the screws are not appropriate to take the weight of the shelf. I am having trouble installing this.
