I keep it always on hand it's a life saver
Excellent product. I was hours away from an ER visit for severe constipation, and decided to try a a vitamin c flush instead. It was unpleasant and very painful (sorry for the graphics) but not as painful as stimulant laxatives or enemas, or, heaven forbid, surgery. I was fortunate. That prompted me to research of course, because I'm not normally a constipated person and figured I'd better try to figure out what was going on. I'm glad I did. My proton pump had stopped working (I'm 58 and female) and my liver and gall bladder decided they wanted some time off too. And while my stomach was dutifully churning up my food and pushing it into the duodenum and small intestine, I suspect there were disgruntled rumblings there also. Yep, factory wide shutdown. To make a long story short, I got everyone back to work and at the risk of sounding REALLY dramatic, I feel like the vitamin c flush saved my life, or at least the misery of ER treatment and cost. It's also just a great way to get your daily vitamin c, especially if you get seasonal allergies, which was the original reason I bought it. Very helpful in that area as well. A word for the wise: if you suffer from frequent indigestion after your meals and you have IBS and/or other digestive/elimination issues please refrain from antacids and especially proton pump inhibitors until you're CERTAIN you actually have too much stomach acid versus too little. Look up how to do the home test for low stomach acid and try that first. Betaine HCL supplements are very inexpensive and the information on how to get a lazy proton pump working again is readily available. I've had tremendous success so far. Also: if you do have low stomach acid you probably also have (gasp!) gut parasites! Deploy the exterminators, lots of great products there as well. As you've probably gathered if you're still reading this, I prefer to treat myself whenever possible. While it's not for everyone, if you're the intrepid type I sincerely hope this info helps.

Dr. Andrew Weil says it's the best C on the market
I purchased this due to the recommendation of Dr. Andrew Weil, and have been happy with it. I wanted a non-GMO vitamin C, and this nicely fits the bill. Unlike some other users here, I've not had issues with the effervescence troubling me. It takes just a moment for the fizzing to stop, and then it goes down really easily. Tastes good, too. I mix it with spring water, or with cold organic green tea. I often will also add half a lemon's worth of juice, including zest (because nothing beats living food!). My understanding is that of the various vitamin C sources and their absorbability, ascorbic acid is slightly more bio-available than these buffered mineral salts. Yet, these salts don't run acid by my teeth, which I value, since I take Vitamin C several times through-out the day. My understanding is that for optimal health, 10,000 mg. of C is recommended. Due to the frequency of my intake, I use just half a teaspoon of this at a time, which is a 2,000 mg. dose. Due to the absorbability issue, I do vary my Vitamin C source at times to include non-GMO ascorbic acid. It doesn't taste as good, but I keep it around as an alternative, and also because it's useful for putting into capsules to take on the go. When I run out of this product, I at least have the ascorbic acid as a back-up. But I'm always glad to have this item back in the house again, because I much prefer it.

Corn or NO Corn Vitamin C??! - Additional Review
My review has been upgraded to an excellent product. I used buffered C-Salt for past 3 days (today is the 4th morning) & I have found the product to work well without any side effects! I mix 2 teaspoonsin water the night before to drink in the morning. There is no bitter tangy taste as my usual buffered Vitamin C product, which is an expensive physician supplied supplement. C-Salt has a bland flavor, the powder dissolves well with the initial fizz. Fortunately, the C-Salt representative responded to my voice mail message & explained the Vitamin C process of C-Salts that works with the sugar out of corn. Corn is not an issue, and, interestingly, after taking my morning C-Salts, my recent facial rashes (from comsuming too much dairy) have resolved. I am pleased with C-Salts & will re-order more for me & my husband. I will strongly suggest that my adult super sensitive daughter tries it. Our present Vitamin C product has been having quality issues.
