Love This Tape
As much as a person can love tape, this is great stuff. I am an architect and have been drafting by hand for over 45 years so I have used a lot of drafting tape. I think this is the best I have used. This sticks well and still lifts up without damaging regular paper or tracing paper or leaving residue. It still tends to roll up under a parallel bar but it seems to hold a little better than other brands. It has other uses as well. I was decorating for a party at my house and I used this tape to hold up swags of material. To my surprise, it held firm without damaging the walls. I also suspended it between two wall to simulate the slope of the ceiling for some rooms I was designing in an attic space. From my tape line slope, I dropped more lines of tape to simulate where a planned wall would meet the ceiling. Then, I thought about it for some months. The tape held the whole time and released without damage when I finally took it down. I definitely recommend it. 5/2019 Update: I was using this tape from a subsequent order the other day and it wasn't sticking worth a darn. I saw it looked wavy on the roll as if it had been sitting in water. I am thinking it has not been exposed to excess humidity or water and may have been delivered that way, can't be sure. Anyway, do be sure to inspect your tape upon delivery to see that it it is evenly rolled onto its roll and return/exchange it if it isn't.

Great tape for paper and cardstock, just not for watercolor paper! UPDATE: Works great on Hot-Pressed
It's my fault for not researching this tape more. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere if you plan to use this for watercolor paper. No matter the paper I use (cheap, professional) this tears my paper when it comes time to remove it. I was able to salvage my work by trimming off the ruined edges with a craft knife, but you may not want to do this with your work. Search for artist tape instead if that's the intended use! UPDATE: I tried this on Arches Hot-Pressed Watercolor paper and it worked like a charm. Did not tear my paper up or remove an fibers/pulp from the paper. So perhaps it just depends on the quality and tooth of the paper.

A total rip-off
If only I could give this zero stars! An absolutely worthless product. So low-tack it barely sticks. Only slightly more effective than spit. I speak as a professional, someone who has been using drafting tape for over fifty years. Sadly, this manufacturer's tape used to very good. I don't know what has gone wrong. I will never order this again.

Too Low-Tack for Crafting
Used for crafting. Very good for borders. Ink & watercolor. Does not tear the cardstock. Good for die cutting, too. It peels off too easily for crafting.

Good quality drafting tape
I was looking for a sturdy tape to hold paper down on my tilted drafting board and this tape works marvelously. I have not had any issues with paper tearing (just be gentle, like always!). I bought this to replace a roll that had gotten beat up from being thrown in my bag and knocked around too many times. Whoops. Tape is thin enough to see the corners of the paper underneath when I lay it down. For me, this is a plus.

Not great for art: Tears surface of 140# paper
I decided to try this for masking the border around watercolor paper because of the description which reads in part: - "Specially designed for stationary trades" (I assumed that stationary was misspelled and should've been stationery- which is paper, right?) - "Pro Artist tape-premium flatback paper tape" (Ok. not just for drafting/technical drawings but also for artists' work.) - "clean removal, repositionable" Plus, I liked the 1/2 inch width for my smaller projects. It's mostly good but it has torn the paper more than once. I've even tried sticking it first to another surface before applying to the watercolor paper and it still occasionally removes (lifts, tears) the paper. On the good side: There is no bleed through or under the tape - it is resistant to my tube watercolors. When it lifts cleanly it produces a straight clean edge! It tears easily just as it claims. It is easy to position - it doesn't stretch out of shape as it was placed on the marks making it easy to get a straight line. Could it be my paper? I guess it could. I used it on Strathmore 140# watercolor paper and on Strathmore Watercolor Cards. If you think that's the problem let me know. So, I need to buy something better, and save this for something else.

Tape it up.
It's masking tape, I guess. It works great for holding my Vellum Paper to paper maps and other prints for tracing purposes. Some types of paper it will peal a microscopic layer off but most of what I have used it on has not hurt the paper and I was able to pull the tape off when done with no adverse effects. Just pull off slow, carefully, and don't let it stay taped for any long period. Sometimes if I'm taping to a delicate spot, I will rub my finger across the sticky side of the tape a couple times to decrease it's stickiness. Works great.

Great, crepe paper like, removes perfectly
I use this tape around the edges of a painting (on paper) to keep the paint within a border. I've bought this type/brand of tape several times but the most recent roll I received seems to have improved adhesion/removability. I've had no issues removing it from around my artwork with absolutely no damage to the paper at all. It can be very difficult to find a true 'artist tape' that doesn't damage the artwork. Wonderful product for artists. Highly recommend.

Perfect for watercolour
I have tried all sorts of different types of tape for keeping my watercolour paper flat while painting. This is the first tape I've found at a reasonable price that does exactly what it's supposed to do without damaging the paper or allowing water to seep in under the seal. Love it!

Mixed Media - Watercolor Journal
I was looking for a 1/2 inch tape to use in my mixed media watercolor journal. Very pleased with the tape for this use. Next time I will make sure that I press the tape more firmly to avoid the pigment from running underneath.
