My husband has regrettably trained our boys to NEED to sleep with white noise in the background. Ugh. Why? I never did! Now, thanks to him, we have to bring one of these along on every trip we take bc they can't stand the quiet sounds of a natural cricket. Whatever. ANYWHOOOO....my older son, who is 9, has a different machine that just makes one white noise sound and that is what they are both used it. Then hubs went and bought this fancy one for HIMSELF with the multiple sounds on it, and so my younger 7 year old son just had to have one, too. Positive: --The sounds are really great! They really are authentic sounding. The thunder, rain, beach and rainforest sound the best and most authentic. The white noise, brown noise, etc... all sound exactly as you would expect. All sounds are very crisp and not rattling or tin sounding in any way. --It's small enough that you can carry it with you on a trip, like we do, as stated above. --Its got a nice little dial for volume control that any 3 year old can use. --You can also use batteries if you are traveling --It has a timer, but, like I said above, my hubs trained our kids to use it ALL NIGHT LONG (ugh) so mine don't use the timer. --Good price Negative: --Can't think of one. Haven't experienced anything negative and my children haven't either. They adore this.

Likes: Good white noise recording, no noticeable reset point. Other recordings are good for another person's taste. (Never before heard of pink noise, gray noise, and brown noise until getting this machine.) I bought a second machine after using for first one for a while. Dislike: The "Rain" setting that I have used for years on other machines is not acceptable for me. The sound appears to grow louder and then softer over and again - as though it is a wind-driven storm, not soft rainfall. The seller may want to make a new recording for rain (again, I used this for years as my preferred setting on other machines).

Worked great for a couple months. We got dependent on it, it helped my baby get to sleep and kept him asleep. The brown noise is awesome not too high pitched and harsh like white noise. But a few weeks ago it stopped turning on immediately, you have to turn it on and off multiple times to get it to come on. I thought it was ok as long as it turned on eventually. But then the socket that the cord plugs into broke so it stopped connecting to power. I excused it, thinking we'll just use batteries. I put batteries in it and it worked for a night. The second day the sound starts popping and crackling! So not it wasn't only not connecting to power and not turning on, now the sound us breaking up and scaring and waking up my baby! So here I am having just moved into a new house with an exhausted, confused baby who won't go down for naps/ won't stay asleep for long enough to make him feel better or let me get anything done because we no longer have a sound machine that works. I just ordered a new one from a different brand, hopefully it works better than this one.

Bought this as sound machine for my 16 month old. We had to take out our window air conditioners out for the winter and my son got really used to the humming sound at night. He couldn't sleep without something. This little guy fit the bill. Multiple sounds and a good price. It's a good size and easy to travel with. I liked that it came with multiple timers or you can set it to just play all night. The all night option is what I was really looking for. Most child brand sound machines only play for certain amount of time and have lullabies Also having multiple sound options is great. We use gray noise as it is the closest to the sound of an air conditioner. He also enjoys the thunder setting. I enjoy it too!! I only gave it 4 stars because the sounds are not as smooth as I would like. All in all it a great product and gets the job done.

Compact, great sounds- could go very loud! We have only turned it on pretty low so far. I got this because we just had a baby and live in a 113 year old apartment with very creaky floors. It is small and we have a 3 year old who can get really loud. I'm using it in the morning so I can sleep in, but i also helps my baby fall asleep and stay asleep. She doesn't startle and wake herself up at all the little noises when we have it on. I love the option of "brown" and "pink" noise because they are less intense to listen to than white noise- more like rain or water. It's also nice to have other natural sounds but so far these are the most used. We've had it for a few weeks and dropped it several times, works perfect still.

This machine is tough for me to review because I LOVE it and there's no other machine I've seen that has PINK noise which was the only really effective form of white noise for my son when he was a newborn. I've since ordered FIVE of these machines. Two for us because my son kicked it off his dresser once and it broke and 3 for friends having babies as I consider it a must have item. If my review was based on that alone I would without a doubt give it a 5. BUT I cannot because the machine starts crapping out after a few months. I don't even know what's wrong with it, my best guess would be that it's possessed by a demon because it all of the sudden started changing the volume by itself getting incredibly loud, so loud it sometimes wakes my son up, and staticky. It's just random and out of the blue that it does it but it's gotten much more frequent so we will either have to buy another one soon or try a different cord maybe or just buy a completely different machine :/

I'm a sound machine fanatic. I sleep trained my little one since he was born using one and I can t sleep without one either. I prefer the Dohm sound machines because they're noise is softer and not as harsh as the white noise. However I have been using the Homedics brand that looks similar to this one for my son. But I always muffled the sound by putting a piece of clothing on top. This machine stood out because it offered brown noise! And it did not disappoint. The volume is also excellent I barely turn it to halfway. I had read other reviews and the problem they had with the power button becoming loose etc I've had the same with my homedics ones. If I buy a $20 one every few years I'm good with that. This in my opinion is a great buy mainly because It has the colored noise options. I also added a video because I had searched to hear the sound differences for the colored noises and couldn't find anything. Hope it helps you decide!

My husband has bad tinnitus and really needs one of these to sleep- so when we accidentally left our old one at my parents house after a visit, I ordered this to replace it ASAP. We liked the greater variety of sounds and initially really liked this model- but it died on us after just 8 months of use. When you turn it on now, it runs for a few seconds and then starts stuttering badly and then stops- whether plugged in or on battery. Our old one (a cheap Homedics model) which is over 15 years old and the power cord is spliced together with electrical tape is still running fine. This model- impressive at the outset, is a piece of junk. I wouldn't be so harsh normally, because it could be a fluke- but we now see other people have the same problem, so it really is a common flaw.

As soon as this product arrived , I opened it and listened to all the choices and found them perfectly clear with lots of volume. I hope it helps with my tinnitus at bedtime. I would certainly recommend this product and the seller to others.

Works great. Loud for a small device. In the end its good value.

All the sounds sound the same, they aren't good and I am not happy with it. On the other hand, the unit came well packaged and on time.
