It is perfect for that! I don't know how I survived without it. :) Review: Nice Little Grater - Sharp stainless blade, grates hard cheddar easily, but grate is very fine. Haven't tried it on lemon, garlic etc. but I'm sure it would work well on those. The little broom is a nice bonus, as well as the plastic protector, although the small alignment tabs are very fragile so be careful when using! Nice to be able to hang it on a hook too. I'm satisfied.
