Musha Handmade 31" Tactical Samurai Wakizashi with 1045 Carbon Steel Full Tang Blade. for Collections for Beginner, Straw Mat Cutting Training Practice (Wakizashi)

This sword reminds me of a Ten Ryu tactical wakizashi that I have. It’s a cheaper version of the United Cutlery Honshu tactical wakizashi which I had heard has its issues in regards to the tang being welded past the tang bolts at least in one review that I read. The United Cutlery Honshu Tactical Wakizashi was an imitation of a Hanwei tactical wakizashi sword, which is no longer in production; I heard those came from Paul Chen. The blade is thick and has a nice fuller (blood groove). It cuts corners where needed to keep the price lower. It seems like they use some adhesive around the hilt (tsuba) to keep it tight. I read some customer reviews that said they had some loose ones, so it looks like they addressed that, to some extent. I definitely think it’s a good starter sword to have if needed and for tactical equipment, but I wouldn’t use it for heavy use, but it should survive some combat, but not a battle necessarily. The fact that they say it is “carbon steel” instead of “high carbon steel” with a spring temper makes it less appealing. Better than stainless steel though. It is definitely good for the price. The hilt is magnetic, which is a good sign and supports that it is made of iron as stated in the description. I would recommend it for a economical option or as a gift if someone wants a potentially functional sword if they need to grab it to ward off an uninvited intruder. Update: This Musha brand sword is supposed to be a cheap lower quality version of the Musashi brand. Apparently there is a seller on Amazon selling this sword and the katana claiming that it is Musashi. I saw from customer photos that they get this type of sword. I was planning on getting the Musashi one, but now that I saw the 1 star reviews, I’m not interested. If it is this same seller as this one pulling that scam, I wouldn’t even buy this sword again. Plus it doesn’t sound like the sword holds up well when it is actually tested despite the certificate it comes with ranking it a silver rating in sword cutting tests. Of course back yard testing versus a rolled up mat cutting test that may or may not have a bamboo core may not be a good comparison. The reviewers that tested it said the blade bent and the edge dented. Not as bad as it breaking, but still…Buyer Beware! Do your research and check the reviews!

Very nice. Tactical, not traditional. full exposed tang with high impact synthetic material triple riveted handles. Guard is flat, making it much more practical to carry, scabbard looks traditional but is also high impact synthetic material with a synthetic lining. Comes sharp. Not traditional...better. No wood or cord to chip, rot, or break. Did buy again.

I've got to give props for the making of this sword. Extremely good price , very sharp blade , good balance as well I highly recommend this sword

Damn fine product! Second purchase of same. Don't believe the detractors! Simple, strong and sharp. Not fancy but sound!!!

It's great for what it is. Blade is good length for easy transport and carry if you wish. Full tang construction, blade if very sturdy, etc, etc. But .... the handle has no real texture to it making it very VERY slick in the hand. Any moisture whatsoever would send this thing flying because it would be almost impossible to hang on it. If you can overcome this or wrap the handle good with something, it'll be fine. Otherwise ... be warned.

This is an excellent sword, Great for Home Defense if needed. A lot of sword for the price.

Well first off as the title says, I almost cut my finger off with this thing, entirely my fault but it speaks to the sharpness atleast, effortlessly cut through even my fingernail when i tried to, very poorly and against every safty code know to man, tried to open a mattress packaged in plastic and tape. So if you bought this for any kinda cutting, be it recreating Forged in Fire Keel tests, or just cutting practice on tatami mats THIS IS FANTASTIC for the price... But my finger hurts alot and i have 7 stitches so be careful with it.

Took 4-5 days to get here even though it was 2 day delivery. (Prime is just a scam) Finally gets here and the wakazashi is stuck inside the scabbard, finally get it out and it's hard to get it back all the way in. It's drenched in oil, and debris from the scabbard and when I look at the handle it's peeling apparently it's laminate and it's going to peel off. You pay for what you get. Also the arm guard is loose. The blade has no bounce no vibration. Hasn't been tempered or anything. I uploaded a video of it being difficult to get out and also get back in.
