Is this safe for my food garden?

The package says it is. I believe this product is mostly spices anyway.

My neighbor has an unleashed pitbull that feels can poop in my yard. Will this keep this animal from deficating in my yard?

Gillian, I wasn't impressed with this product. I have a puppy that likes to dig. Filled the holes up with topsoil and put this product on top. Didn't stop him. You'd have to order a lot of it to cover your whole yard, but didn't work for me.

Can this product be used on the snow?

The product will provide SOME protection if you apply it on top of snow, but it is far more effective when the granules are dry. No, it is basically red pepper powder, so it doesn't hurt plants or grass
