Part Three of a record breaking three-volume collection, bringing together over sixty of the world's leading Sherlock Holmes authors. All the stories are traditional Sherlock Holmes pastiches. This volume covers the years from 1896 to 1929, including contributions from: Geri Schear, Paul D. Gilbert, Stuart Douglas, Lyn McConchie, Phil Growick, Seamus Duffy, Leslie FE Coombs, Mark Alberstat, GC Rosenquist, Iain McLaughlin and Claire Bartlett, Andrew Lane, Peter K. Andersson, Matthew J. Elliott, Jim French, Bob Byrne, James Lovegrove, Tim Symonds, Larry Millett, Kim Krisco, C. Edward Davis, Joel and Carolyn Senter, (and two poems by Bonnie MacBird). The authors are donating all the royalties from the collection to preservation projects at Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's former home, Undershaw. Review: Very good collection of Holmes & Watson in action. - I really found this book to be an enjoyable read. The stories are easy to read and as always, seem very true to life. I recommend this set for any ACD and Holmes fan. I will add though the last story made me feel quite sad. Once youโve read it, I think youโll agree. Review: Good read - Nightly read that is quick and satisfying. Great plot twists with captivating character development. Looking for to part four. Glad I found this one.

Great collection of Sherlock Holmes stories
I have the first two and I'll more than likely get the volumes 4 and 5 also. Great collection of Sherlock Holmes stories. I like the way they kept all of the stories relatively short, each about 20 to 30 minutes reading so it's very pleasant reading. I've read the first two volumes and about half way through this one and I've found some works better than others, but haven't come across one that I wouldn't rate as good to very good. Highly recommend this series of books to any fan of Sherlock Holmes.

Great Collection of Sherlock Holmes Pastiches.
Excellent series of pastiches of original Sherlock Holmes stories. Captures the era, flavor, and style of the originals. Really enjoyable readand sets the standard for Volumes II and III of the MX series of Sherlock Holmes stories. Highly recommend all three volumes. If you enjoy the Canon then you will certainly enjoy these books. A well worthwhile addition to any collection of Sherlock Holmes stories.

Nice recreations of A. Conan Doyle's characters.
Good read, lots of good short stories, true to the Canon, or not included.

Excellent Holmes Read
I suppose like the introduction to the MX series of books on Sherlock Holmes says there are two paths in the Holmes saga - one has a strict "only the original stories" and the other more expansive. I belong to the latter group. I enjoy the writings of Mr. Holmes and Mr. Watson regardless of the author(s). I will freely admit that there are stories that......well, don't "measure up" but, for me, the fun is in the search.

Excellent collection. Very close to the original Conan Doyle style
Excellent collection. Very close to the original Conan Doyle style, in atmosphere, word choices, characters, and puzzles--as was Vol. I (so far Vol. I and III are the only ones I have). Further, it's a good feeling to contribute to the restoration of the old Conan Doyle house (which is where the proceeds go).

Absolutely!! The game is afoot and worth it!!!
Definitely worth reading. I soaked up all 3 books in the series in about a week or so. Even the weaker stories were good. I believe it restored my jaded Holmes passion. That funds from it were going to restore Sir Arthur's home seems to add much for my feelings.

Flawed, but impressive
A variable collection, mostly good to excellent, but with enough typos, textual non-sequiturs, feeble endings and occasional content repetition to suggest, sadly, that the role of editor was at best titular. Setting that aside - plenty of period detail, knowing winks to Conan Doyle's oeuvre, pace and verve to make the collection as a whole very satisfying - I've already snapped up another volume. My favourite by some margin is The Adventure of the Dark Tower by Swedish writer and historian P.K. Andersson, up there to my mind with Antony Burgess's 'Murder To Music'. Its gnomic ending proves that sometimes, just sometimes, fanfiction trumps the original: "I have always been suspicious of scholars, Watson. They are so certain of themselves that when their worldviews are undermined, they turn into the only other workgroup that is as presumptuous - priests."

Good stories with a feel of authenticity.

A little light on substance. Too much concentration on London weather for a
Some of the short stories were a little contrived even for Holmes and Watson.

The poorest of the three volumes.
Not, to my mind, as good as the previous two volumes. Some of the efforts are nowhere near the level required for successful pastiche.
