A nice unabridged version of the first edition published in 1915 with 8 original illustrations. The Valley of Fear is the fourth and final Sherlock Holmes novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Be sure to read the other SeaWolf Press editions of his other three books: The Sign of Four, A Study in Scarlet , and The Hound of the Baskervilles. It is loosely based on the Molly Maguires and Pinkerton agent James McParland. The first book edition was published by George H. Doran Company in 1915, and illustrated by Arthur I. Keller. The story starts with Sherlock Holmes receiving a ciphered message from an agent of Professor Moriarty but without the key to the cipher. The book is divided into two parts: The Tragedy of Birlstone and The Scowrers. Review: Great - Excellent Review: Best edition ever!! Best option out there!
I love getting the feel of the first editions through the fonts, formatting and original illustrations that SeaWolf uses. No other reprints do this for so low a price. This is seriously the only version anyone should ever buy!

This is one of my favorite Sherlock Holmes books. A great ending!

Non così male
Non ci sono tantissime illustrazioni. Sono forse 7 o 8. Almeno per quanto riguarda il mercato italiano, non è stampato negli Stati Uniti d'America come è scritto all'inizio, ma in Italia, com'è scritto alla fine. Deludente, oltre che un inganno. Almeno spiega il prezzo economico. Per il resto, adoro il font, e inoltre è stampato bene, con un bel nero, a differenza di altri libri dove la stampa è poco chiara, come se già non costassero tanto.

Disappointing story, wasn't nearly as good as some of the author's other titles.
I worked out fairly early on what the answer was to the riddle. Very nice publication, tho. Good solid hard back and easily legible print. Great quality product worth the money as such.
