Genuine Classic Series VSi Variable Shade Welding Helmet - 260938

Great helmet, the built in grind shield is a handy and convenient component and it offers a great, unobstructed and clear viewing field. As a welding apprentice, working in a shop 9+ hours a day the time saved by simply flipping up the main component to instantly continue with finishing and prep work is exceptional. The controls are easy to use and changing out the battery is a breeze if you ever have the need to. The only downside I can find is that the head strap is not nearly as rugged as it could probably be; I have found that the helmet doesn't stay up even with simple head movement, though that could probably be attributed to the weight of the helmet. Overall extremely satisfied with my purchase and I can't imagine using any other helmet for years to come.

I'm not a welder and do not use this helmet myself. I purchased it as a gift for a nephew who was going to welding school. He picked this helmet himself, I merely purchased it. However, I have heard back from my nephew that this is a wonderful helmet, the envy of all his fellow students in school and now also of his coworkers at his job.

Headstrap broke after one, all-day use. Everything else is still working and functional

The face screen is nice, good for grinding. However, because of that feature, it adds a lot of weight. Hard on the neck after a bit.

Great helmet for simple shop welding. Comes with several extra lenses. I find no issues with the weight of the helmet and it is comfortable.

Besides having three lenses plus my glasses to clean, this hood is sweet. I have set up with a hard hat adapter so I can use it on any job. The grind shield feature make my life a lot easier and my eyes a lot safer. The package says its designed for light duty but it seems to be holding up just fine.

Never been a miller fan until now. I still have my Lincoln hoods at home and work but this is by far my favorite. Perfect hood for everything I got going on. People having different types of welding jobs may have different opinions but I love it

Compared to my Classic Auto Darkening helmet from Miller. This is a bit heavier and feels a little floaty on the head. However with the grindshield built in you cant really expect much. It's a trade off for additional features. It allows me to weld and grind without swapping helmets. Makes the job easier to complete especially on a tight schedule when timing means everything. It does the job and does the job well. It also fits the Miller Respirator. But doesn't fit a 3m one. So keep that in mind as well. With the grind shield on it, theres a lot less space for debris to be kicked into your face just under your hood while wearing a respirator. And that's ok to me. Because I've been hit in the face and eyes with disc abrasives even with safety glasses and a welding helmet on. I enjoy it, it's a bit to pay but it's a trade off to know you're face is safe.

Light weight stylish and function amazing this is well worth the buy

Purchased in sept of 2020 and used daily All of hard ware for face shield hardware broke within first 3 months and have not been able to aqquire replacement parts , for price you pay the view capacity is unfortunately awful would like too see this mask revamped with better viewing capacity and better hardwarre for mounting face shield, clear lense technology is great, for ths price buy the digital elite or canaweld mask

The helmet is heavy, that is the trade off for a flip front. Head gear is a little weak Its not a hood I would wear all day , perfect for repair welding that I do.

Excellent helmet in every respect; LCD response to arc is very reliable, solidly built, comfortable to wear all day. The built in face shield is a nice feature to have (no more finding the grind switch and only half seeing what you are doing). Haven't used the X-Mode at all, but this is a huge step up from the lower quality helmet I was using up to now. Even came ahead of schedule, which is a huge plus. Definitely recommend it.
