Pianos Become The Teeth has a melodic, yet uncompromising, sound that brings to mind such diverse and influential bands as Thursday, Envy and City Of Caterpillar. Breathing with sincerity and brandishing an experimental ambiance, the band is pushing beyond the boundaries of a stale genre. Mixing elements of screamo, hardcore as well as post-rock, "Old Pride" breathes new life into a once decaying scene. Review: qualityy - that ONE 1 star review is just a hater. phenomenal album, came from topshelf records when I ordered Review: Amazing - Such a great band. They kind of sound like a cross between white noise/ radio static and a hardcore/ screamo band, but in a good way. Cripples can't shiver is my favorite song on the CD, it's actually a really sad song but it's amazing none the less.

One of the best alternative albums of 2010
Pianos Become the Teeth have easily become one of my favorite bands over the past 12 months. From the moment I first heard the opening track of the 2010 release "Old Pride" I knew that this is the band that I've been looking for. The album is a flowing expression of every emotion from doubt, frustration, desperation, and satisfaction. One track that particularly sticks to me is "Cripples Can't Shiver." The pure anxiety in the singer's voice as the song builds is unmatchable. As the song moves along you will hear the first hand story of a woman's frustration of caring for a husband afflicted by chronic depressive multiple sclerosis. Her words are so genuine and emotional that I find myself on the verge of tears when listening. This band has the ablility to make even the forerunners of this genre of music give a nod of approval. All in all this is a great record and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is into Post Hardcore music.

Shipped with a cracked case
I love the album, and the CD came in perfectly on time, however, the case was cracked. If you're anything like me, this is almost detrimental, but the CD was fine.

What a terrific thing this record is. Post-hardcore emo, is it? Gosh it roars like an intense thing. They are officially my new favourite band. That's a long list, going back to Scritti Politti and Crisis and Husker Du for reference geeks. Later records are a bit less shouty, but no less splendid. In case you were wondering if Fugazi were a dead end; well no they patently were not. This record probably not for everybody. But I'm 52 and most of the kids are nowhere near as real as this. That's a big old yes for intelligent post something or other guitar music.
