Excelent knife that will never let you down.
I bought this knife to try out the brand, and was not disappointed. The lock is nice, though you have to break it in a little to make it easier to close, but I never had any problems with it not working. There was no give in this knife, no wiggle when testing it, both new and used, and no doubt that it would hold under pressure. Backpacking with this knife was great because of its lower weight, and the black blade meant no glare back in your face when in use. The clip on this knife is great, with just enough room to get your pants pocket into it, but not so much that it wiggles off easily. Size is great, not too big, definitely not too small. The edge of the blade didn't get dull quickly, and even after months of use still was sharp. I actually lost this knife recently, and am purchasing another one while I look for the old one since this is my every day knife that I carry. Best that happens, I find the old one and have two, worst that happens is I don't find the old one, and at least have one to use. I highly recommend this knife to anyone.

Everyday use
I like the size and appearance. Well made and made to last. I had the exact knife for 6yrs and lost it. Thats Only reason i ordered the exact same one. Really great everyday knife. It holds a good sharp edge and performs with out question. Keep in mind it's not a screw driver or a prying tool. Its a knife. A Great knife. I highly recommend this knife to any who carries and uses a knife day in and day out. I Won't leave the house without out. Can't beat the price.

This is probably like the 5th or 6th CRKT M16 I have owned ...
This is probably like the 5th or 6th CRKT M16 I have owned (I am always losing them!) but it has been my preferred daily-carry knife for several years now. Lightweight, rides easy and deep in the pocket, decent quality steel blade (that is VERY sharp out of the box, and can easily be maintained) this was my first "real" knife. The auto-lawks closing system can take a little getting used to if you have never used it before (just get used to people who want to see your knife or use it never, ever knowing how to close it once it's opened, it can actually be pretty funny watching their confused expressions trying to get the blade close again...) but soon it will be second nature, flicking the blade open with a practiced little twist of the wrist, and then closing it just easy. It's definitely important to put some locktite (the blue stuff works best) on the little clip screws, because they always loosen and fallout, on every single m16 i've ever had. Other than that, it really is the perfect every day use knife. Sharp. Good looking. Easily concealable. You just can't go wrong with a CRKT m16.

Small knife - some issues, but has character.
It seems silly to hold this knife in my hand, after holding an M16 Desert Dog. This is like a MiniCooper among Hummers. I try desperately to avoid products made in China, but CRKT keeps enticing me to cave in. However, not all of their knives are excellent, and not too many will rate 5 Stars. I have four very good ones, but not one of them has earned a 5-star rating from me. This is one of those for two reasons - the mechanism, and the price. The thumb studs won't open this knife. Forget it. You can try 'til the cows come home, but it ain't gonna happen. The flipper will, but the knife will open completely only with a herculean flick of my wrist. The bearing washers are either too tight, too thick, or the wrong material. Lockup is positive and rigid however, with a solid "snap". There is no side-play. One reviewer said that his knife has no steel liner, but mine clearly does. I will always prefer a spear-point blade, and I'll always favor a blade without serrations. Those are two of the reasons I selected this knife. The blade of this little squirt is pretty darn sharp out-of-the-box, but I could feel some unstropped grinding-burrs, so I gave it a few swipes with a Lansky, which quickly brought it up to snuff. It's incredible how small this knife looks and feels in my hand after holding a Desert Dog, but that's why I chose it. I simply wanted a lightweight "pocket knife", and this might fill the bill. The pocket clip is NOT reversible, so it has to be carried tip-down unless you want to tote it like loose change. It's fairly comfortable to hold. My thumb rests nicely on the spine-jimping, (nicely deburred) with my forefinger behind the flipper. The sharpened blade will pass the paper/cardboard test with flying colors, and will cut packing tape, plastic soda bottles, blister packs, quarter-inch cotton & nylon rope, and will easily stab through sheetrock (I don't recommend you try that without gloves on). As compact and lightweight as this knife is, and as sharp as the blade is, I can picture employing it as a feature pocket knife. Not as a "carry knife", but as a legitimate, handy, ol' fashioned "jack knife". Comparably, the SOG Flash I is a better knife, but it's much bigger and more expensive. The Kershaw Cryo is a good price, but it's much heavier. I'll stick with the CRKT. It certainly doesn't warrant 5 stars, but it's not bad enough to deserve only 3. I recommend it, with the caveat that you won't be impressed with the mechanism, and it's slightly overpriced. A fun little knife! 4 stars. .

High quality and good looking knife.
Had a CRKT knife before but because of lack of maintainance on my end it had rusted. Got this knife and was surprised at the looks and quality which were a step up from my previous knife which was already a very nice knife.

Grea value as an EDC
The good? Came with a really decent edge on the blade from the factory. Light weight, exceptionally easy to open when desired (with nominal accidental opening risk), feels decent in the hand, excellent size, and a usable pocket clip. The bad? Clipped to my jeans pocket, the fingertip opener makes short work of grinding into the leather cover of my steering wheel and other surfaces rubbing against the exposed opener tip. Closing the knife is a bit cumbersome, but not enough to lose sleep over, does get easier over time as the mechanism breaks in a bit and one gets used to the action required. Not sure if much can be done about the clip as placing on the opposite end of the knife would be in the way of gripping the knife. I now simply carry the knife in my pocket unless I'm out in the woods. Not as convenient but it beats shredding stuff against the opener. Picked mine up on SAC, and it was a super bargain. Still a good buy here. Would buy again.

Not good, not bad either
This is probably the worst CRKT knife I've ever had but I've only ever had good experiences with Crkt, so this is still better than most of the knives Ive ever owned. It's not as smooth as I was hoping and it's A pain in the butt to unlock both because it has a secondary lock on it, but also because the primary frame lock is really stiff. If you've only ever had cheap knives, you will probably be really happy with this one. It's still smoother and better quality than most of my kershaws haha, but doesn't compare to any of the other 6 crkt knives I own. It's also smaller than I thought. On the upside, it does come pretty Dang Sharp out of the box and is incredibly lightweight.

A High-quality, good operating, and nice looking blade for the money.
Got this in the other day - right on time - and very pleased. Fit and finish are good. Operates smoothly and a very good size for EDC. It's not open-assisted, but the Flipper seems to get it out there well enough, although not quite to locked. But I expect it will break in over time. It took a bit to get used to the locking mechanism but works fine once one is used to it. I lost a larger Gerber and think that this is actually better since I work in a white-collar office. Whether in jeans or dockers, it's a good, unobtrusive size. In summary - a good value.
