Durable, functional, and looks good
First, I bought this based on the numerous reviews written. The majority of the reviews were good and there's always a chance that you'll get one that passed QC, yet may be defective. However, the number of positive reviews way outweighs the negative. Assembly: (5/5) This thing was pretty simple to put together. There are six rails, 2 for each row, that requires one bolt for each side. So after 12 bolts, I was pretty much done. Like all assembly, don't tighten completely until you have all the bolts on first. Build: (5/5) This thing is solid and pretty heavy. I did not notice any flexing or bending even as I moved it around and leaned against it. So far I only have a few light weights, but plan on getting some 40-50 lbs dumbbell, which I am sure it will comfortably handle. I think it may be a good idea to rack the heavier weights on the bottom. Had no defects on my unit. No missing holes, cracks, or damages. Functional: (5/5) The rack is designed to hold the dumbbells in place, but not to prevent them from rolling left or right. The assumption here is that you will be racking hex shaped dumbbells and not round ones. It's not like the gym rack where there is a crescent shape rubber piece to hold the weight in place. They did it this way, so you can rack more weights if the dumbbells are lighter. The rack spacing is a little narrow, so it loosely fits my Weider Rubber hex dumbbell. That means this will probably accommodate smaller neoprene dumbbells that are a bit more narrow. Finally, it's great to have each row spaced back as you go up. This makes it easy to pick up weights from the bottom rack with ease. Since I have heavier weights on the bottom, the last thing I want is contorting my wrist to get the dumbbell out. The top row is not offset too far back where you'll have to reach over to get it. Overall:: (5/5) Item was decently protected by a layer of bubble wrap and one Styrofoam pad in the package. Easy to assemble. Looks good and functions as intended. This thing makes accessing the dumbbells quicker now that they are organized.

Good value.
Solid rack that doesn’t take up too much space while still allowing for adequate storage. Only downside is I can tell metal dumbbells will likely scratch easily. Took about 25-30 minutes to construct. I thought it was easier to build with 2 people.

Quality and Sturdy :)
Quality and Sturdy. Easy to put together, less than 30 minutes. Dumbbells are off the floor and its a lovely addition to my workout space! If I need more storage, I would definitely buy another one.

The Rack is solid and perfect.
Excellent, I'm very satisfied with this dumbbells rack. It's easy to grab and put weights away. I did put the front rails on upside-down. The back rails hold the weights perfectly 8-50lbs. I bought 2 racks and love the convenience, comfort and organization. I highly recommend purchasing these Rack. There solid and perfect.

Good for home gym if size matters. Easy install.
I don’t know if hex dumbbells have different sized heads depending on manufacturer, but mine seem larger than cast iron ones I had before. I’m specifically calling that out because my 5-50 set would not fit on the rack. I left the 5s and 10s on the floor, but the rest fit nicely. The rack footprint is small, which I needed. It’s not too long, too deep, or too high. It’s just right. It seems solid and sturdy. I worry about my bull-in-a-china-shop husband yanking the 40s or 50s off the bottom rack and pulling the whole thing over. But that’s more on him than on the rack. The rack came scratched in places. The bolt heads scratched just from them rubbing together in my hands. It’s in the garage and it will get scratched from me taking and replacing the dumbbells. I don’t care about a couple surface scratches. Installation was very easy. The manufacturer must have changed the hardware. I base this on two observations: 1) There were no wrenches in my box. Some reviews complained about how crappy the included wrenches were. 2) The instructions didn’t match the hardware. For example, the instructions said two wrenches would be necessary to tighten the nut, but the nuts are nylon nuts and the bolts have a smooth top, so there’s nothing to grip with a second wrench. You only need one wrench to tighten the nuts. I used a 5/8” socket. To be honest, I regret using the socket because I was able to collapse the metal under the nut, despite using a washer. Doing so deformed one of the plastic end caps. That’s why I deducted a star. The metal shouldn’t be that soft. Let me address a complaint I read in other reviews regarding the crossmembers not matching the holes in the side braces. Install all the bolts and nuts only finger tight. It allows you the slack to make the holes line up perfectly. After doing that, square up the rack and begin fully tightening the nuts. Tighten the opposite nuts - so do one on the top right then on the bottom left. Then top left and bottom right. Then the middle. You should do this with most DIY builds, unless the instructions specifically state otherwise.

Works from small to large dumbbells
Came in many pieces but took a short time to put together. Instructions was clear and had no issues. Came out great and was able to support small and large dumbbells. My heaviest was a pair of 60lbs. No issues and looks great.

Built much stronger than expected. Will last a lifetime.
I've order a lot of products over the years, but this is the Best. I was so impressed that the 4 main weight bearing pieces (the floor beams, the upright bars, the upright brace bars, and the 3 end braces) were all WELDED together to form a Rock-Solid frame. Usually, these pieces would separate and you'd have to screw them all together with bolts, which is the weakest link. Having a fully Welded frame is incredible at this price. I was amazed that the only assembly needed was to bolt on the 6 horizontal support beams and then the 4 rubber end caps onto the floor beams (which required a mallet to hammer them into place, no big deal). I had purchased one of those pyramid-shaped dumbbell racks a month ago for $39, but the box had a warning for "contains chemicals known to cause cancer" and the rubber end caps had a horrendous odor that would not go away. I returned that unit to the store and ordered this APEX unit to replace it. This APEX rack is so much stronger and safer to use! Safer because your hands are protected when you set down the weights; the width between the two horizontal beams is plenty wide enough that your hand and fingers have lots of room and you won't smash a finger. These beams are also tilted at an angle towards you, so you are lifting towards you, instead of having to lean over and lift straight up (which would put more stress on your lower lumbar region). This safety design was worth the entire price on my first usage of the product. The unit looks great in my workout corner of the basement, next to my bench setup. I've got it loaded with dumbbell sets of 10-12-15-20-25-30-35-40 lbs. Another reviewer said they called APEX and was told the unit will hold 800 lbs. I'm not sure why the price jumps around so much. I saw the price dropped to $63 one day and I ordered it. Less than a week later, it's back up to $99, which is still a great price for a High-Quality product that will last more than my lifetime. This thing is not flimsy, it is STURDY Welded Steel. It is a HOSS.

No more pinched fingers
I have had a different, cheaper Marcy dumbbell rack for many years in my home gym. It was OK and did the job, but it lacked anything from keeping the weights from rolling around on the rack. This put my fingers in constant jeopardy whenever I removed or replaced a weight on the rack, which meant that I would avoid doing either of these things during an actual workout. I would have to get all the weights I needed before the workout, and then put them all back afterwards. This creates a dumbbell cluttered mess while exercising. Time for an upgrade, and this was it. This weight rack has a little shelf to set the flat side of a dumbbell on, which prevents rolling. You can also put the shelves at adjustable distances and angles to accommodate the width of your weights and the angle at which you like to pick them up. I currently store dumbbell handles, 5,8,10,12,15,20,25,and 30 lb bells on this rack, and could probably fit an additional 35 lb set fairly comfortably if I wanted to expand it a little further. This rack is solid, sturdy, and easy to put together. I was initially worried that it would be complicated to put together given all the adjustment options, but it only took a few minutes to figure it out and get it together. Assembly was very intuitive. It also looks better and more "professional" than my previous rack. Best of all, I think the price for what you get is very good, given how sturdy it is and how nice it looks in my home gym.
