The standard Snellen Chart needs to be used at a distance of 20 feet away, which is extremely difficult to achieve in most rooms. A standard bedroom is 12 feet x 12 feet, which is too small to achieve the 20 foot distance. This chart is conveniently designed for a 10 foot distance, so it can be used in most rooms. As to the product itself, it is like a thin hard plastic, so it is durable. As other reviewers have said, it comes rolled up and will "refuse" to straighten, almost regardless of what you do. It is determined to be rolled up in the same shape as a tube, which is admittedly irritating. So you will definitely need to tack up the corners so it is flat. HOWEVER, if you do that, it will work out just fine. (See attached picture). Considering you are a getting an accurate 10ft chart and that it is durable, and once tacked up, you have a functional chart, I think it is worth the cost. If you absolutely don't want to buy a chart that is not flat, then you'll have to look elsewhere.
