Impressed
I was looking for something so that I could use my cell phone to take pictures through my binoculars. The Vankey Cellphone Telescope Adapter Mount works great. It is very well build out of metal and is strong. I see reviewers who complain about how long it takes to set up and adjust each time to be ready to take pictures.. Yes the first set up and getting things lined up so that the cell phone camera is in the right place over the binocular eyepiece does take some adjusting. Once I had everything lined up right I made a note of where the adapter sat on the eyepiece. I then adjusted the cell phone holder so that the phone was still snug but I could pull it out of the holder without loosening the bolt. When I want to take pictures with my cell phone through my binoculars I just clamp the adapter on the eyepiece in the same position I found it works best then slide my cell phone into the holder with the camera over the binocular eyepiece. After a few practice tries I can now put the adapter on my binoculars, pop in my cell phone and be ready to take pictures in less than a minute. I am impressed with this product, exactly what I wanted.

One small design flaw, but overall, I love it
Pros: * Very sturdy and strong. * Once everything is on place, it holds the phone in place perfectly. * Makes taking pictures MUCH easier than simply holding the phone with my hand. Cons: * Isn't quite long enough for my Pixel 3a. Because it's volume buttons are a little further down the side than some other phones, I have to add some padding under the eyepiece in order to be able to line everything up right. It's a minor inconvenience that doesn't affect the product's performance once the eyepiece is attached. * The trade off for the sturdiness and durability is that it weighs enough that I had to rig up a counterweight to keep my Orion XT8 from slowly drifting down. Not a flaw in the product, but something to be aware of. * I think I'd prefer if the part that holds the phone were spring loaded instead of screwed down so that phones could be swapped out quicker. (My son and I like to take pictures with our own phones, so we switch somewhat frequently.) This is a very minor complaint. And the way it is might arguably hold the phone more firmly anyway. Overall, I love it.

Solid Item
This is a very interesting and cool product. I never thought to buy one, but it serves a very specific purpose that is applicable to more and more people these days. With cell phone cameras not only quickly becoming our primary cameras, but also coming in at very high resolutions. I am about to take this baby out on a Vegas vacation, but for now I have done some initial testing. As a side note, this item will not work with specifically with the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL; it has an awesome camera, but has very strange button placement and continues to turn the volume up when I tighten the phone holder part and the phone will not do anything else while this is going on. I ended up testing this on an Alcatel OneTouch with a pair of binoculars. The frame is all metal and the parts that hold the phone and eyepiece are hard plastic. The latter screws to press down the eye piece and hold it in place, with foam padding on all 4 side of the diamond shaped eyepiece holder. There is an expanding part on the phone holder that goes wide enough to hold just about any phone currently on the market and it has foam padding on either side as well as the back to protect the phone. Then there is a screw in the back that allows the two parts to move around against each other so the phone can be adjusted to accommodate the height of the camera, then rotated to align with the eyepiece. Once everything is tightened, the entire thing is pretty solid. Larger phones will take a little more work to keep aligned and tighten, but my alcatel was so light that this was not an issue. The tough part is getting results. It is extremely difficult to align the phone to the eyepiece and calibrate the eyepiece at a distance that the lenses will work together and produce a clear image. But this is not a fault of the product, it is a limitation of the lenses. With a little work, it does eventually work out. Overall, the construction and concept of the product is pretty solid and it does exactly what it says it does. I hope this review has helped you.

Manufacturer not responding to emails!!!
The product seems great. It is well made and sturdy. Like the other reviews state, “ hard to line up but worth it when you finally get it. I have an iPhone 11 Pro and it fits the phone just fine. The product does not fit my particular spotting scope however. Not the sellers fault, I should have looked and measured my spotting scope. The reason for 3 stars is I emailed the company (Vankey) asking if they have a different product to fit a larger (2.375”) eyepiece. Their product card inside the package says to not return if you have an issue, instead email customer service and you will receive a response with in 24 hours. It has been 3 days and I have not received a response. I guess I will send the entire unit back to Amazon and order a different brand.

Good quality out-of-box!
When I first opened this product, it felt durable (because I bought the aluminum version) and of good quality. I have an iPhone X, and it fit perfectly even with the case, so it can hold even wider phones. I first tried it on my pair binoculars, and it fits perfectly as well, but I did have to take about 4-5 minutes to line up the camera to the binoculars’ eyepiece. It is kind of hard to do, but taking time to position the phone’s camera to the eyepiece is expected of any phone mount, honestly. When I did get it lined up, it worked really well. There was no shaking at all when I tightened it up, the phone’s camera was perfectly aligned to how I want it, and it just worked well overall. I’d definitely recommend this product to anyone that wants to take pictures with their phone through telescopes, binoculars, and monoculars.

Left impressions on my eye relief cup. Was not stable. Returned immediately.
I did NOT like this. Two complaints. First off, the connection to the scope is just the thin metal bars. They have to be very tight for a sturdy clear photo and when they are tightened down, these bars leave impressions on my scopes eyecup. Also since there is not a lot of contact area between the scope and the apparatus here, there is a terrible amount of play between my phone and scope. It just….it just didn’t work out. I wasn’t confident in it. Mounting my phone 100% perpendicular to my optic was also difficult due to the thin nature of the bars and lack of contacts area. I ended up on a screw on adapter with a circular coupling that has a really nice purchase on my scope. This good purchase allows me to avoid over-tightening and damaging my scope.

solid device
After getting this, I was amazed about how a few people wrote some negative reviews on it. I bought the metal version and maybe that is what makes a difference. It is sturdy and holds the telescope eyepiece nice and snugly in place. Contrary to what one reviewer said, you CAN use this with a cell phone that has a centered camera lens (mine is). It will allow you to manipulate its position totally as you may need it. The easiest way I found to use this was to first connect the device to the camera body with the side clamps bringing it up to the lens location and make sure it isn't covering any side buttons. Then move the eye piece holder carriage in an approximate position to line up with the camera lens and then tighten it there loosely to prevent it from moving easily. Then place the telescope lens into the lens carriage so that it freely drops into place right up against the camera lens flat all around. (both the camera lens and your telescope lens are recessed so even if you now start moving the lens holder carriage around to center the lens, it won't scratch any of the two lens surfaces.) Then turn on your camera and face it toward a light. Move the carriage more to center the glow then tighten in place. Now put a similar eyepiece lens power into your telescope to find the target that you want to photograph. Once you have the target centered as well as possible, remove that eyepiece and put in your camera/telescope lens device into the star diagonal. It will already be lined up pretty well with mostly only a minor adjustment for both the position and focus. You are now ready to take a picture. I use the timer for 3 seconds so that after I push the camera button, it gives the telescope time to settle down from the vibration of your pushing the camera button. Another advantage of this attachment is that your camera is right on top of the eyepiece close enough to easily see the object even if the lens has a short eye relief like 6mm or less. The view is now coming through the cell phone camera screen which allows everyone to see the target at the same time without needing each person to bring his eye tightly up against an eyepiece.

DOES NOT FIT TODAYS SMART PHONES SIZE
I LOVED THAT IT CAME ON TIME. IT IS EASY TO USE /SOME OF IT IS WELL BUILT/ THE SMALL PLASTIC SIZE SCREW AND BACK SCREWS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE ARE SMALL PLASTIC TURN SCREWS. SHOULD BE BIGGER AND METAL WITH THAT SAID I LIKE IT AND WOULD BUY AN IMPROVED MODEL THAT FITS MY 6.5 UMIDIGI SMARTPHONE, I USED MY GPS MOUNT AND ADAPTED IT TO THIS HOLDER... WORKS GREAT NOW...

Questionable metal??
Pulled this out of my range bag for the 4th time but found it broken. The nut was still attached and pieces of plastic all over. I thought this was metal, guess only some parts are metal. Well used it 3 times in 18 months.

Meh…
Did not like the phone holder part on my iPhone pro max. The sides are not deep enough. I have to constantly watch that the phone does not fall off. Not worth sending back.
