A lovely read with a great message
A delightful book that sensitively tackles the issues faced by children sometimes struggling to feel at home in the modern world. Nicely illustrated with heartfelt poetry that will provoke thought in both child and adult alike.

A delightful book, but some editing required
This book has a wonderful sentiment and beautiful illustrations, except there is one section in the book that describes us as being different races. Firstly biologically this is not correct, secondly as the books main aim is to say that we belong highlighting racism as a subtle positive is not that great. I changed three words to make it read better, so that I can read this in my classroom. "Some might (come from) a different (place) ..."But otherwise, I like how it describes all the lovely things that make us different and equal.

Simplicity in complexity
This engaging book encourages kids (young and old ) on every page to remember, and for some of us rediscover, a simple fact in our complex world: we are amazing. Great artwork, great writing, love the book

Pretty good
Nice pictures and a wonderful message. I think it's a shame that the poetry let's is down a bit. Is it too much to ask that a children's poetry book should both rhyme and scan? However, a wonderful story about diversity.

Great little book with a BIG message
Fabulous little book for children of all ages!In today's world where grown-ups are demonstrating and waving placards at each other; this gentle little book shows how children just 'get it'.They accept each other for who they are as individuals; ignorant of creed, colour, race, beliefs and financial status. They, and this subtly-messaged book, can teach us all a thing or two.Brilliant for my diverse brood.

Brillant
Beautiful book to educate about racism, acceptance of others and really focusing on what is inside and not the colour of one's skin

Nice book
Lovely book explaining diversity to children. Might be a bit long for babies, I would recommend it for older kids (2/3 years).

Opening the door for conversations
Living in an extremely small, rural, predominantly white town, but I myself grew up in a very diverse city, it was important for me to be able to start exposing my children young to differences in individuals aside from seeing them in big cities. I wanted something that could open the dialogue and talk about differences while in the comfort of our home. This book made that easy to do with our 3 year old. We are able to point out differences between the kids in the books and she can easily understand the words Iโm reading to her. Highly recommend!
