Finally, the exciting and long-awaited sequel to one of the biggest health and healing bestsellers of all time has arrived. When Peter Kelder's Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth was released by Harbor Press in 1985, it immediately touched off an incredible sales phenomenon rivaled only by The Celestine Prophecy and Conversations with God . In this book, readers were introduced to the Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation, a series of exercises developed over centuries in the monasteries of Tibet and credited by thousands for everything from increased energy to better memory, weight loss, and just looking and feeling younger. Almost as quickly as the books filtered across the globe, letters began to pour in to Harbor Press requesting more information on these mysterious rites. Now, more than ten years and two million books later, comes a comprehensive companion volume that addresses the unanswered questions of so many readers. Picking up where Kelder's book left off, Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth, Book 2 provides the complete Fountain of Youth health program, with detailed information on a variety of topics discussed only fleetingly in the original bestseller: the history and origins of the Five Rites, valuable insights about how the Rites work, diet suggestions, and easy-to-follow exercises. Illustrated with fifty black-and-white photographs, this guide will help turn back the hands of time, invigorating and energizing readers' lives as never before. Review: Ancient Secrets of the fountain of Youth exercises - Best book in my collection. If you do the 5 rites you will definitely feel better, A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE! Review: A wonderful companion to the Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth. - It's great to have this on my Kindle as well. I bought the hardcover and the Kindle version both. I buy copies of the original Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth to give to friends and relatives. The 5 rites are a great way to stay in shape. 30 days after open heart surgery (I didn't ask the doctor if it was okay), I went back to doing the 5 rites, and I am stronger and healthier than I've ever been. At nearly 73 I feel healthier and stronger than I was at 35 years of age. Its a matter of exercise of course, but also nutrition and spiritual understanding as well. I've been using the original Fountain of Youth rites for the past 25 years. I don't know that I could pass for 50, but my doctor says I could. I'm aiming for passing for 35. The rites themselves take about half an hour a day to do. They are sort of like yoga, which I also practice.

Back pain gone after first day
I have a friend in Texas who called and said he was doing these exercises and starting to feel better and had more energy. I ordered the book and read about the Monks exercise routine and started trying to do them. I am 66 years old and have a bulging disc in my neck and constant moderate to severe back pain that limited my mobility. I took prescription pain medications twice each day that only took the edge off the pain. I could not do all the exercises the first day but I did not need pain meds that day. I continued the exercises in the am and pm and they became easier. I am now pain free...can walk erect and not stooped over. I was walking stooped over because the muscles in the back of my legs were weak and tight. Now I can bend over, put my palms on the floor and almost put my head on my knees...not bad for 66 years old. I will do these exercises the rest of my life.

A good supplement to Book 1, but not absolutely necessary to everybody.
This book was written fairly recently and it is exactly what is says: a companion to book 1. It has today's perspetive of specialists on the rites and teaching of Colonel Bradford, but it is not necessary. But if you have serious difficulty executing certain of the rites in Book 1, this one will give you some easier alternatives -which of course were not in the original teachings- but might be beneficial as well. Since I am performing the original rites I have no reason to replace them with any other exercises. But overall, this is also a good book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and learning some more info on nutrition.

Excellent Book for New or Long Time Tibetan Rites Folks
I have all of his books and this is my favorite and most helpful of them all. It's one that I can just pick up and open about anywhere in the book, read a few pages and come away with new or renewed knowledge. Tip: Make sure you order the one with the "2" on the book jacket!

MAGIC MEANS ENCHANTING
Book two of the Ancient Fountain of Youth is an outstanding continuation of the first book which was authored by Peter Kelder. This second book has several excellent contributors who clarify and extend the wisdom found in the first book. Seventeen years ago I was regularly being offered senior citizen discounts. Those generous offers stopped occurring not long after I read and started applying the secrets in these books. Now I buy copies as gifts for select acquaintances who seem open to believing "strange stuff." (By the way, my nom de guerre is Fast Eddie Wong and my intellectual property EGOBLOW is available right here on Amazon.com. EGOBLOW is an entertaining, embarrassing, educational, self-defence card game. Check it out!)

I love Fountain of Youth Book 2 because it is a ...
I love Fountain of Youth Book 2 because it is a fountain of knowledge about western medicine doctor's opinions about why these exercises are so effective. It's very informative. It has a lot of facts about the far east that most Westerners simply do not know. I have bought this book multiple times. I keep giving it away. I think I will keep this copy for me.

Making the simple complicated
I'm not sure why this book was written. My impression of the first book was to introduce the 5 Tibetan Rites as a way of preserving youth. However, this book introduces additional practices no affiliated with the 5 Rites. If the Rites are sufficient in themselves why introduce other practices. It doesn't make any sense to me other than this book being written for the sake of profit. Stay with the first book. This book is entirely unnecessary.
