Wondra Quick Mixing All Purpose Flour, 13.5 oz

This is a must have for your kitchen. A staple in my pantry and my mother's for years. Perfect for flouring baking pans, making gravy or other delicately floured dishes. The shaker container makes it easy to measure or pour the right amount.

I didn't realize that Wondea still existed! I don't know when or why I stopped buying it. I happened upon a very old recipe that listed Wondra in the ingredients. What?! So I started looking for it. Of course Amazon sells it, 6 at a time, but okay, I can share. My daughter didn't have the culinary joys of cooking with Wondra, so I introduced her to this amazing flour. I forgot how great it is to cook with.

Great for making gravy with no lumps.

For those who don't understand this product, if you cook or bake, get it and try it! I mostly use it for thickening homemade gravy, I create a roux with oil (or butter) and this flour, about equal parts, then add either stock or milk depending on what kind of gravy I'm wanting. If it doesn't thicken enough at first, I don't hesitate to sprinkle in a bit more of this flour directly from the cannister. It never clumps or does anything weird. I have used it the same way I use regular flour too, as a breading for chicken or pork. Unfortunately it has become increasingly harder and harder to find where I live, even in the bigger towns, I am grateful I can buy it here. And getting the 6 pack, I have plenty to share with friends who cook/bake. Oh and I have used it to make pudding, it works for that too.

I purchase these via Amazon frankly because it's cheaper than I can buy locally, significantly so. I purchase them delivered to my door. I store them in the freezer and pull them out as I need them. You get six. Super fine flour. Since I don't use much flour, I use it for about anything I need a little flour for. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. Nothing like Wondra (a semi coarse flour) to make smooth gravies, thicken stews, and making dumplings! I use it all the time. Great for flouring cake and bread pans. No lumps. Only reason for a 4 star review is that my latest 6 pack arrived with one broken seal (at the base) and some flour spilled. Not returning it because I really love it!

The only way to make gravy. Has gotten hard to find in grocery store so I bought this 6 pack here.

I have used this product for ten years. I love fried chicken and this product makes it crisp and tasty without the heavy starches and clumping. I also use it for breading on fish, pork and beef. It doesn't absord fat or leave a lot of waste in the frying or baking pan. A little secret that I don't condone or recommend but it has an almost unlimited shelf life. I have kept it in the pantry for two and a half years and still if performs as if it was a fresh box. It never taste stale and I have never seen a bug of any kind as you might find in flour. The only drawback is that I have difficult time finding this product in grocery stores. I am so glad that Amazon carries it. It doesn't cost much and as I mentioned you don't have to buy it very often. That may the reason it's not found in grocery stores on a regular basis.

The brand White Wings in Australia stopped making 'Gravy Flour' and this product is an excellent alternative allowing me to easily thicken gravies, soups, stews etc.
