Does it only work when in home or away mode? Or is it always active?

You can set it in the app to work or not work in ALL modes. Completely tunable. I even use it to test when the system is off to send emails/texts or secret alerts when anyone walks in a certain room even when the alarm is off.

Does this work with the Gen 1 system or is there an older glass break sensor available for that? Thanks

They recently decided to do away with the old system. They replaced all of my items for free with the new system. Call them. 😊

Will it work if door closed but window is within 20 feet?

The Glassbreak Sensor should be in the same room as the window you are protecting so it can pick up on the frequency of glass breaking clearly.

How far can it be from the base?
