My therapist recommended I get a candle I could use as a reminder to pray during stressful times or when I'm doing a task that requires me to be especially mindful. I'm not even Catholic, but I've always had kind of an odd synchronicity with "Our Lady of Guadalupe," and this candle was so gorgeous that it felt like it would be a very meaningful reminder when I needed it. I've lit the candle twice so far, and it just gets prettier every time I light it. I'm astounded by the quality, especially for the low cost. I saw a lot of reviews saying it broke in shipping, and I can see how that might be an issue, as it does seem a bit delicate, but mine came packaged VERY well, and was just stunning. I will absolutely buy it again, if I get a broken one, I'll just roll the dice until I get another, because it's so lovely.

Fast shipping. Bought this as a gift for someone that adores this religious person. I was worried when I initially received the package as it was in Amazon’s bubble mailer, not in a box as one would imagine BUT, the wrapping of the candle is good. It is in its own little temporary display box covered in plastic seal wrap and over that, they placed sticky bubble wrap and tapped it as well. It was a pain to take off the sticky bubble wrap but it did not damage the temporary display box nor did it damage the plastic wrap on the display box. As this is a gift, I did not take it out of the temp display box but can see the gold toned detail is pretty. I believe it’s possibly a plastic or resin as I don’t believe it to be wax. If I find out it is after the gift is opened, I will update this review. I do believe $20 is a bit pricey for this candle as it’s not that big. I estimate it is the size of the “inside candle” of one of hose tall glass candles you can buy at the dollar store as they are a tiny bit smaller. Also, I’m not sure of the actual burn time or if detailed religious candles like this one are of an equal price point. I was willing to pay the $20 as it looked very pretty online, the candle is purportedly handmade by Religious Mexican Artisans, and I am 99.99% sure the gift recipient will like it. I took off a star as it was smaller than I expected, based on what is visible without opening the display packaging, there is a small chip or indentation on the top of the candle and on the image of the religious person, (it appears to be paper), the color and image is scratched off towards the bottom. It might be a possible print defect, small but I did notice it.

FYI candle does not come in glass. Candle wick didn't light right away. When it did ignite it filled the house with the smell of toxic burning plastic. Forced to return. Do not recommend.
