Colorful and smooth
Nice pencils. These pencils go on very smooth and have nice bright colors. I wish the pencils themselves were a little thicker, they are hexagonal shape so dont roll. I also wish the colors had names and numbers on them. They do have the color of the pencil on the end, however, one of my pencils with purple on the end was actually blue. I taped a sample of the color on the end of that pencil to avoid confusion. I also made a color chart and gave each color a name for my own reference. For the price these are very nice. It would be great if they came in larger sets. I would definitely buy them. They come in a cardboard box, which would probably last awhile, but I put them in a nice pencil holder in the order of my color chart.

Strange name, GREAT pencils!
Short review: low in price, high in quality. Softer than Crayolas, my "control" brand, harder than Prismacolor soft cores and Polychromos, with excellent lining out, gradients, and layering. I wish they had more colors! Of the lower priced sets I've tried, these are the best. IF they were all lightfast and we had that information, IMO, these would rank with the best I've used...Prisma soft cores, Polychromos, Albrecht Durers, Pablos, Coloursofts, and Pablos. The supposed to be brilliant colors are indeed brilliant, and it has some muted colors as well. The black is deep and layers fine, and the white actually is useful, though not in Prisma soft core or Derwent Drawing pencil Chinese white league. These seem compatible with other brands and are basically waterproof. BTW, how DO you pronounce this name? I say 'plucky', because the name fits. MORE COLORS!!!!!

A pleasure to use these pencils for sketching
This is the first time I've used wax-based colored pencils for sketching. I like how they glide over sketch paper and the intensity of color can be increased by going over an area several times. This type of pencil does not seem to blend at all. Just know that before you use them. I plan to use these for a basic drawing class, in addition to soft sketching pencils. My students will be encouraged to add some color to their finished sketch just for fun. I recommend these colored pencils as an intermediate medium between watercolor pencils and oil-based artist's pencils. These are aver nice quality and I think I'll enjoy drawing with them for years to come. Also, these pencils arrived pre-sharpened, which is handy. I also found I could easily sharpen them as needed with a small pencil sharpener or with my electric sharpener. No problems.

A Pleasant Surprise!
I am not an artist, but over the last few years I've discovered that coloring is a wonderful way to relax. And while I'm at it, I usually like to look at the finished product and feel some sense of accomplishment. I use markers, gel pens and colored pencils. I have my favorites for markers and gel pens, but have never quite found a favorite for the pencils. Many times the colored pencils I used left a grainy effect or were waxy looking and didn't achieve the results I wanted. I've tossed many pictures because of the pencils I've used. I've bought expensive pencils....and quickly realized that for my purposes....higher cost did not necessarily mean a better product. A couple of weeks ago I came to Amazon to do yet another search and the first item to show up was the Pluqis pencils. The pack of 24 had just the right amount of color variation for me, they are non-toxic, and the price was right. The positive reviews convinced me to purchase them and I'm so glad I did! Whether I'm doing light shading or applying more pressure, they go down smooth and the colors are bright. As of now, I've not had any problems with the points breaking. A pleasant surprise indeed! Needless to say, I'm very happy with these pencils and I plan to order more so I don't run out!

Great pencils!
These are awesome art pencils! They are fatter than what I am used to so that took a little getting used to, but they are top notch in color rich pigments, coverage, smooth lay down and they are good for shading and blending. They sharpen pretty well in the large hole of my manual sharpener. Sadly, they only come in a 24 count set but those 24 are really nice colors. I used them with my Faber Castell Polychromos for blending and the two sets worked really nicely together. In my opinion these are top grade artist pencils at a fraction of what I have paid for my other top of the line pencils so I was happy to find these.

These are the BEST COLORED HIGH PIGMENTS every I have seen and used
These are the BEST COLORED HIGH PIGMENTS every I have seen and used. This August will be a year since I started coloring with Adult Books since then I have purchase about 9 to 11 packs of colored pencils. I have brought top name brand Prisma color, Faber Castel, Marco Raffin, Ohuhu also a brand of Marco Raffin. Sargent and Crayola and some other brands. But these take to the top of the line of colored pencils I mean these out beat the list that I have written down. These have the name on them they even have the top of the pencil color the same as the lead so there is no reason that you will forget what colored pencil you use if you make a mistake. These are the ones to buy they need to have more likes packs of 30, 40, and 50. THE BEST ONES OUT THERE BELIEVE me.

Good, but break easily while sharpening.
I like the way these pencils feel while coloring and the even coverage. I have to say they have two big faults. One is the color coding for the deep blue looks like purple and I picked up the wrong color more than once. Now I test it to make sure I have the right one. The other problem is that the pencils break a lot when sharpening. It is very hard to get a decent tip for fine line coloring. Every time I sharpen these pencils I hope they won't break. I hate the waste.

My New Favorite
I own Crayola, Sargent, Faber Castell, Prismacolor Premier and Prismacolor Verithin colored pencils. I couldn't resist buying these because the price was so great and the reviews so good. Now I see why. These are better than Prismacolor pencils! So smooth and they blend like a dream and using a Derwent colorless blender with them creates beautiful effects. It is going to be so hard to wait patiently for a larger color selection to be offered! Phenomenal colored pencils! You will not regret buying these!
