So this product was my first introduction to the 'charcoal' trend of deodorizing foul smells. As always, I am skeptical when seeing the intense product header: PURGGO Mini Natural Odor Eliminator, Air Freshener, Purifier - Smell Absorber: Shoe, Litter Box, Wet Dog, Bag - Odor Removal, Neutralizer - 100% Activated Bamboo Charcoal [Pack of 2] [Lava Gray]", but gave it a try after reading the 600+ positive reviews. I have this product for a little more than a month now and I 'think' its working? I put them in my suitcase when traveling and my dirty clothes don't really smell too bad afterwards. My room seems 'fresher'. I know it's not a miracle product and it's supposed to be a subtle difference. What I do know is that I bought a larger bag of 'charcoal' product for my car and that definitely works. So I am assuming that this also works on a smaller scale. At any rate, I would suggest giving it a try if you're looking for an environmental solution to freshening up your room, closet, car, suitcase, etc. My answers to the frequently asked questions: How many come in a package? 1 or 2? The package comes with 2. Cigarette smell comes into small bathroom vent from smokers on condo lower floor. Would the CAR sized Purggo help ? thanks for any ideas. It would help, but by a small margin. The odor would probably still linger, but it will help freshen the air. I bought a larger bag for my car and it did wonders. Would these be effective on shoes that aren't enclosed, like ballet flats? Absolutely! I put these inside my shoes in the suitcase when I am traveling to make it nice and clean on my vacation. Overall a great product and I highly recommend this to anyone! A side note: The packaging box is beautifully made and the product itself is slick and stylish. It has this 'island' fresh appeal to it. Definitely nice to hang it around the bathroom or a bedroom to give a sense of relaxation and purity. Definitely give it a try. I bought these primarily to put into my 75+ year old heirloom dresser passed down from my Grandma. Over that last few years, the drawers began to smell like old wood. I tried using scented drawer liners, cleaning the wood with Orange Glo, spraying the wood with perfume, Febreze, etc. Nothing took the smell out longer than a few days, which meant anything I put in the dresser also smelled like old, musty wood. I came across these during a "Today's Deal" and thought, why not? All I can say is WOW! After just two days, it took the musty smell out of the drawers and my clothes. I also have a suitcase that no matter what I spray in it or how long I air it out, always makes my clothes smell like the fabric lining even after a few hours. And it's not a cheap suitcase. Even putting clothes in a bag and wrapping them tightly wouldn't work. I decided to put one in my suitcase for a few days before a recent trip to see if it helped. Even after three days of being in the suitcase unbagged, my clothes smelled like they did when I washed them! I just left the bamboo charcoal bag inside the entire time. What a difference! Trying to mask odors don't work...I never really thought of trying to absorb these types of odors. I don't know how they would work hanging in a closet or on a door knob to absorb odors in a larger area. All I can say is they worked for my smaller spaces. I'm totally impressed and will be ordering more in the future. It's a great product!

These were advertised for shoes but I threw one in my car and seems to have improved the smell it would get if we adventure in the rain and the moisture sits in the car. It's a nice portable size and seems to be lasting a while. Had it in there for 2ish months now and still going strong.

I seldom do reviews as I order a lot and reviews take a lot of time. However, yesterday I was faced with a terrible odor in my master suite due to a dead squirrel in my attic. With my pest guy out of town and not able to get here until first thing this morning, I was desperate to control this odor. My PURGGO pack had arrived on Friday and my assistant had unpacked them and displayed them for me to inspect along with other things. I immediately put them in the bedroom until I could get out and get some industrial strength things designed for this heavy duty purpose. By the time I returned home with the "big guns", maybe 2 hours later, the odor was almost undetectable. I was VERY IMPRESSED. If these which I intended to use to freshen closets could handle this job, they are clearly very effective and much more powerful than they look. BRAVO and thank you1

These work decently well at absorbing odors around the home. Definitely does not work as well as their car air freshener, I would imagine this is because of the larger size of their car air freshener compared to these. I put these in a closet in my house where my cat got trapped while we were gone and had to relieve himself, and no amount of cleaning got rid of that horrible smell. While this product is the best thing we've found to combat the smell, it is still present upon first opening the closet door, but is improved by I'd say 75%.

Hi - I wear flats (shoes) every day to work and like many woman can probably agree, they tend to build odor fast, regardless of wearing socks, etc. Typically I notice odor in new flats after a few weeks-couple months of daily wear and end up buying new ones every 4-6 months. I decided to prolong the life of my new flats by trying these PURGGO's out. After several weeks of daily wear I am amazed! The trick is during the day, I've been slipping them directly into the shoes while I'm sitting at my desk, sometimes leaving them for an hour or two at a time. I notice any moisture is surprisingly absorbed. If I forget to bring them to work, I'm usually pretty good at just putting them in the shoes overnight or over the weekend. By now my flats would usually smell, but it's been probably 6 or more weeks now and I'm swearing by these and buying some more for my other shoes! Note that I did try to use these for my old flats and they didn't seem to do much...I think it's important for buyers to know that this product is more preventative/passive than active, meaning, it probably isn't intended to eliminate old odors that have been there for a while. But if you want to prolong the life of something like expensive flats, I'm highly recommending! Thanks

I write this review after 4 days I using this I'm uber driver every day when I get in my car I feel bad because of the old smell from the customer in my car and I try too many spray or expensive air freshener But sins I got this one I put in my car one in front and one in back so I wiat 3 days now and I can tell every time when I get in my car I feel there is no bad or old smells I don't know how but this things really work great for me and it's should get 10 stars and I recommend this to everyone but remeber it dosnt have perform inside but it's clean air inside your car and it's perfect and healthy

Our daughter absolutely refuses to wear socks, which has resulted in some pretty horrifically smelly shoes (the odor can clear a room in seconds flat). We've been using the PURGGO deodorizers in her shoes for a little over a week now, and I have definitely smelled an improvement - but for the sake of full disclosure, I'll add that I washed the insoles of her shoes prior to putting the deodorizers in, so that probably helped. However, even with clean shoes, her feet still sweat and smell like the floor of a WWE locker room, so the routine is that when she gets home, she now immediately takes off her shoes and slips the PURGGO packs into them until she's ready to wear them again. So far, so good - her shoes no longer have to be put in the garage where no one can smell them. I can see this as a potential 5 star product, but haven't been using it long enough to adequately review it at 5.

Placed one of these in each of the cars and they've worked great to clean lingering smells. One of my cars particularly had a smell from having gotten wet and no matter what I tried the smell would always come back. I used to hate driving it because I was sure I stank getting out on the other end. Now I can get in my car and not smell anything. My car is mine again to enjoy driving. To be clear I only placed one of the two pack into the vehicle and it cleaned the smell right up. I was concerned I'd need the larger one they also sell or atleast both of these smaller ones but one of them has done wonders. I think these are great and will purchase again when I need anything else to be smelling fresh.

This Purggo odor eliminators for shoes works well if you place them in the sun avery month or so. If you have really smelly feet, you should also soak your feet either in warm water and Epsom salt or white vinegar. When storing them for longer periods, I place either a dryer sheet of Bounce or baby powder inside the shoes.
