Have a richer and more meaningful experience abroad through a better understanding of the local culture. Chapters on history, values, attitudes, and traditions will help you to better understand your hosts, while tips on etiquette and communicating will help you to navigate unfamiliar situations and avoid faux pas. Review: GREAT GUIDE!!!! - NOT an average travel guide!!! I am going to Ghana for a mission trip and wanted "real" insight on what to expect, how to prepare, etc. This book had it ALL! Covered everything I wanted to know and more! Didn't talk about being a traditonal traveler, seeing everything from the "outside"; it was about becoming immursed in the culture and getting the full cultural experience. I am even more excited now to go! Review: Well written guide - Very helpful information. Great resource for anyone planning to travel to Ghana.

A thorough and insightful summary.
The author has a deep understanding and respect for the nation and people of Ghana. Basic information is summarized but I most appreciated the cultural insights on greetings, foods, relationship expectations, etc. Includes great anecdotes and proverbs from the culture. I lived there for 10 years and I still learned so much from this book. Highly recommend.

Books looks beaten up
The book content seems ok thus far. But I bought it new and it came really beat up. There is damage to the exterior and some pages.

Very informative
It's a small book, but very informative with helpful information about the culture, food, history, and traditions of Ghana. We especially loved reading the Ghanaian Proverbs listed.

Got this for a friend emigrating to Ghana, who found it invaluable. UK citizens: do not expect an easy ride in Ghana by our standards!

Me ha gustado pq. tiene mucha información, en un tamaño de bolsillo muy manejable.

Full of inaccuracies and one sided
Full of stereotypes and flawed. We are at a dawn where the true horrors of what the British and other European countries did over hundreds of years and repercussions still felt today are clear to see. Too many books like this written from the point of view of somebody who of course cannot show real shame for their country of origin.
