Complete awesomeness
I haven't used all of the plug types yet (in fact, I've only used US plugs in it). I bought this because I often travel to conferences with international participants, who might have forgotten their adapters to make their plug fit into US sockets - this solves the problem quite easily, as the sockets are universal (they accept pretty much any country's plugs). This has also become my go-to power strip for normal uses too - it has a long enough cord to actually be useful! I hate power strips that only have 2-foot cords. The only drawback is that due to the ability to accept plugs from any country, the thing is HUGE. It barely fits in my backpack, and for flights, I prefer to throw it in my carry-on rather than my backpack just to ease the load. Also, the power cord is US - so it will only work in US sockets without one of the aforementioned adapters that people forget all the time! But it will accept 110-220 if you can feed it to it - unlike other power strips that blow up if you feed them 220 It's important to note that this doesn't do any sort of voltage conversion - so whatever you plug in has to accept the voltage that's coming out of the socket that you have it plugged in to. If you use this to power a 110 appliance in a country that has 220, I think you'd be in for a big surprise (and not in a good way!).

Good powerstrip for global use.
I have used these at client sites in the US, England, and Australia. It made us look good when our competitor plugged his power strip in while in England and blew the circuit breaker for the room - this one handled the foreign voltage fine. Because the outlets on it accept various international plugs, you can purchase something overseas and plug it in - just as you can still use foreign devices when you get home. You just need one international adapter to plug this power strip into a power source overseas and you are off and running. It's not a small power strip, but the long cord is handy to run it to a table, and it's very reliable. I liked it so much I bought them for my home office and sent my kids to college with them for dorm room use. I'll buy more when I need them.

Good product
Keep in mind, this power strip does not change the VOLTAGE, it only works as an adapter with the additional benefit of surge protection and universal outlets. If you're traveling outside of the U.S. (to Europe, for example) you'll need to get an adapter to convert the voltage of your electronic devices, or just make sure your electronics are dual voltage to begin with (almost all laptops, camera chargers, and phone chargers are.) Anyway, this product worked beautifully. I took it to France and used it for just about every device I had. Keep in mind, the plug that goes into the wall is a U.S. STYLE PLUG, so you'll need to get a small plug adapter for that. What really makes this product great is the universal outlets on the strip itself. You can plug American AND European appliances into the same strip. Awesome.

A little heavy but works fine and solves a big problem
We bought the VCT USP600 universal power strip just before starting a trip to England. We stay in bed and breakfast facilities and many have very few outlets (some only 1) and we are now carrying lots of small electronics (cell phones, cameras, Kindle, laptop etc.) that need recharging. They all seem to come with 120/220 dual voltage power supplies and have plug in transformers. The USP600 solves that problem by turning one 220 volt grounded outlet into six 220 grounded outlets. It has a lighted switch, circuit breaker, surge protection and EMI/RFI filtering so it provides some added degree of protection for electronics. The outlets are universal style and will take most foreign and American plugs. The advantage to this is that the space between outlets is about 1.75 inches and most power boxes will sit side by side so that you can use all six outlets. The lack of technical specifications on Amazon drives me crazy, so here is some of the stuff that you may want to know: Size: 14.5 x 2.5 x 1.75 inches. Weight of plug box is 10-11 oz, but the almost 6 foot cable makes the total 22 oz. The box says it is rated at 15 amps, 250 volts (3750 watts). It also says max spike current 54,000 amps (I am used to seeing joules), reponse < 1 nanosec, EMI/RFI filtering 100 KHZ - 20 MHZ, 10 db attenuation. Incoming line protection: full line (L-N,L-G,N-G). The almost 1.4 lb weight is a bit heavy for traveling, and if it is a problem, there is a 3 socket, more weight conscious, plug-strip available on Amazon with a very short 13 in cable (which is where it saves weight). We had several places where the longer cable was needed and the 3 outlet version is nearly the same price as the USP 600. We needed all six outlets and the length was not a problem packing. The shutters help keep things from falling into the somewhat large universal outlet holes and did not seem to cause problems plugging things into the strip. This is NOT a voltage converter, so you need to be careful to only plug 220 volt devices into this strip. It has an input plug that is standard US 3-prong grounded, so you will also need to buy a grounded plug converter to fit the country you are traveling to. the gain is that you only need the one converter for the input plug and not all six devices you are using. It will NOT accept a polarized US plug. This is actually GOOD because it helps protect against the urge to plug everything you own into the power strip. Polarized plugs seem to be limited to 120 volt devices, so it is a bit of stupidity protection. Be forewarned if you try to use a 120 volt device on a 220 volt circuit, you will burn the device up. You can always plug a voltage converter into the strip and then use your polarized and 120 volt devices through the converter.

Exactly what you need
These days we all carry multiple electronics just to make it through the day. The same is true on vacation. My friend and I both had cameras, e-readers, cell phones, and music players that needed charging while vacationing in Asia. This power strip was perfect. We were able to keep all of our items charged and ready to go at once rather than having to take turns or search for outlets. Additionally, we only had to carry one set of adapters. Because the strip works with high voltage outlets, we were able to use it in multiple countries without concern. If you are traveling with more than one person, this power strip works wonderfully.

Dangerous! Hot and Neutral Reversed
This is a sturdily built item, but I can't recommend it for safety reasons. The hot and neutral wires on all six outlets are reversed for a U.S. plug. Also, both vertical slots on all outlets are wide enough to accept the wide U.S. polarized plug prongs that are supposed to be connected to the neutral wire, so even if the wiring had been done right, U.S. polarized plugs could be inserted the wrong way.

Universal Power Strip - VCT USP600
This universal power strip is great for international travelers. Most countries, outside of the US and Canada, use 220V 50 Cycle current. This power strip can handle both the 100V current in North America and also the 220/250Volt current used in most other countries. Be aware that whatever current you put in is what comes out. So, if you are in a 220V country and plug in a 110V appliance, without using a converter, pffft! you will blow it out. You will still need a converter to use a 110V appliance with this power strip. That said, it will allow you to use a number of appliances or chargers at the same time from a single outlet. Just remember to take along a converter for your 110V appliances. Because this is also a surge protector, it will save your equipment from the power surges that are common in some foreign countries with questionable power grids. Also, remember to bring along plug adapters for the country that you are in. While the unit has universal plug outlets, that is, they will accept plugs from just about any country in the world, you may need an adapter to plug the unit into the wall outlet in the country you are in since it has the standard 3 prong plug used in the US and Canada.

Warning: not really a universal plug
Warning: If you have US pugs where one side is slightly bigger (the newer standard plug) then you will have to break some plastic to make it fit into this 'universal' surge strip - it is not designed to fit this type of plug. If you push really hard you can force it in and it works fine (but it seems like a lot of money to pay for a surge strip that isn't really universal). Other than that it seems like a normal surge strip, note it is pretty big/bulky compared to the usual US surge strips, but it is light.
