Interesting question. These are open on the top so the picture doesn't fall through. You could cut them one of the pieces would be open on tthe top and bottom. You could glue one of the sides shut. So. 4"x6" would become 4"x3"? That's an odd size unless you are ordering a larger size.

Suggestions on How to remove protective film

My Picture Pockets did not come with a film. They were nicely packaged in a box. I simply took them out and they were ready for use. Not sure what protective film you are talking about unless they changed their packaging. I definitely was pleased with my purchase and to recommend this product.

Can you mail one in a card with one forever stamp?

not sure about that but the PO could tell you.

Where does the adhesive go? behind the picture?

Sorry, but it been a while since I used them. Moved and don't have them with me to show you, in storage. Good Luck!
